guess breeding is a doubt, but was a great fan of Manduro and thought he was sure to win the Arc before getting injured.
Fact that Andrew Balding started Bonfire off at 1m in soft ground suggests he has no doubts he is a stayer, and was staying on strongly at York under only hands and heels riding, winning in good time too, rare for a classic trial this season. EVen did a better figure than Camelot in the Guineas, though latter may have done well to win being held up off ordinary pace

sankara, , what you doing on a mans thread, joined 2010 as 18 year old i presume, actually not pointless thread, just look at the main contenders , bar camelot, imo this will be the worst quality derby ever, alas the oaks looks a cracker even with half the field coolmore.

uncle, not so sure that the fillies, reckon that the oaks wasnt a bad race, im sure the fugue, vow might be decent in a strongly run race, wouldnt mind seeing the fugue v camelot .the derby was a shocker,

Not sure how strong either race was but Camelot was almost 5 seconds quicker than Was, that's an enormous gap for the fillies to make up(on similar ground)

ground was very loose around tatt all the way to post yesterday, divots flying about, definetly not so visable today , and im not for 1 min saying the fugue would beat camelot , just wouldnt mind seeing a head to head, i,ll also give you a leger outsider especially if camelot not there vow, that slow pace was useless to her, dont know why their trainers dont employ their owm pacemakers if they know they want a strong pace.

While I think Camelot would murder any of the fillies over 10-12f, at least the fillies division looks quite competitive and races like the Irish Oaks, Nassau etc should be interesting.

I reckon Camelot's connections will do everything they can to avoid a clash with The Fugue, so sadly we'll never find out which is the superior of the two, nor whether this thread is really the crock of sh!t it appears to be.

sankara, how is this thread crock of ****, it was posted 26 may, and read bar camelot, i think its been proved yesterday, BAR CAMELOT THIS HAS TO BE THE WORST DERBY FIELD EVER., AND if you dont see this then i dont think you know much about h/racing .

ps noone on here suggested that the fugue would get within 2/3 lengths of camelot, all i said was wouldnt mind seeing them race, coz i reckon that shes the best filly over 12f

the fugue isnt even guaranteed to beat WAS nest time they meet.
Camelot is an above average derby winner and one of the better horses to win the race in the past 20 years, he even won the guineas and u dont even want him to take on the WINNER of the oaks. theres so many questions to be answered from the oaks, it was a messy race but many want him to take on the FUGUE. for all we know WAS wins everytime, maybe the fugue will always just be getting there at the end.
where is this hype coming from? and what entitles it to be mentioned next to a guineas and derby winner?
funny thing is, theres alreadhy comments saying they would never allow camelot to meet the fugue?
who are these deluded people? even if the fugue did beat him if they met. why are people mentioning her in relation to him now? she didnt win the oaks, she wasnt even 2nd.

Quite the most ridiculous statement. Yes the Fugue seemed unlucky but as ILWAB says you cannot be 100% sure that Was is not he best filly over 12F. As the Fugue is owned by a breeder, they will be desperate for a Group 1 and their best hope and most likely route will be Irish Oaks and/or Yorkshire Oaks - don't think Camelot is eligible.
Whilst I completely agree that this is a poor year for the Classic crop I do think Camelot is a very good horse as is any horse that win a classic over 8 and then 12F. We will only know how good he is when he runs in an all age race. FWIW there is no doubt that Camelot would beat The Fugue quite comfortably.

im in the dark like everyone, i dont know who the best horse in the oaks is but to presume its the fugue at this stage is unwarranted and pure guesswork. but to actually hand pick that horse and then say that camelots connections will avoid a clash? delusional isnt the word.
whatever people might say about coolmore, they are sporting, and never avoid a clash as seen with frankel and sea the stars. its other connections that cherry pick races from my experience and without camelot and coolmore the derby wouldve really been a farce this year, really poor turnout.
now they have a guineas and derby winner and are on the run from the fugue.
HELP!
those type of comments are so irritating roo.im in the dark like everyone, i dont know who the best horse in the oaks is but to presume its the fugue at this stage is unwarranted and pure guesswork. but to actually hand pick that horse and then say t
