If I were HH Aga Khan I'd be giving very serious consideration to running this filly at Epsom. Unless Maybe returns to her imperious 2yo form it doesn't look a particularly tough Oaks. If goes for the Diane instead she'll more than likely run up against Beauty Parlour, who looks top-drawer.
I'd agree with that. If she was confirmed for the race I would play and tbh wouldn't really worry about Maybe.
However looking at their website does look like they are going to stay at home

It's OK, found it. Shame, as I'd agree with Mystic Wind, although I disagree that this is a weak Oaks. Maybe is an unlikely stayer, but Vow, Kissed, Kailani and the Fugue have abundant potential.

I might be mugging myself off here but I'm not too bothered about that story. It was written before the last scratching stage and merely confirmed the racing manager's waffle straight after the Cleopatre. He admitted he hadn't spoken to the Aga though and, susbsequently, they've had that scratching stage and someone's told the yard to leave her in.
There is hope imo.

She's a big winner for me but I have no idea in truth, roo. It seemed she caught a few people out last time, not least her connections, so whether that was a flash in the pan or they've been entertaining an angel unaware, who knows? I thought Guyon wasn't seen to his best on Fabre's filly, which gave the race a very unusual shape for a French contest....they went off far too quick. It was also blowing a hooley at SC that day so some fillies might not have fancied it....and she carried her tail in an unorthodox manner in parts, which I'm not a fan of (although that may have been down to the wind). Doesn't sound too promising does it?
On the plus side, she reamins unbeaten and possibly not even tested yet, and the Aga does look like he has his usual strong batch of 3-y-o fillies, so they should be able to send one to Epsom and still be represented in the Diane. Early season I thought Sagawara might turn out to be the pick but wasn't too impressed with her attitude in defeat last time...and right now the one who's got my juices flowing hasn't run in a Listed or Pattern race yet. Her name's Valyra, run two won two (small heats) but I was really quite bowled over by her the other day and she looks well worth a try in any company. She has no entries to speak of though, but maybe they'd like to roll the supplementary dice with her against Beauty Parlour and steer the other lass our way?

roobuck boils are NRNB so would she be a play for you at 16/1 if lining up? money back obviously if she doesn't show. she's 12's with some bookies that don't give the incentive

Unfortunately my Spoils account is now severely restricted so was unable to do it online. Phoned up and whilst they didn't take the bet I wanted, it was at least 1/2 stake and confirmed NRNB. I guess if this wins and so does Bonfire they will just tell me to FO in future.
I had the same problem of SP with Parish Hall for the Derby FWIW

it must be different for phone and online I suppose, after headmasters comment and another poster on a different thread I decided to try. put 2 separate 25 e/w bets on, said one was for me and one for a friend. woman rang, head office I guess, no problems so 50e/w no bother surely they take more.
she had to give location of shop though so constant string of bets might put a stop to it, but few more small bets like mine would be taken Im sure.
of course ye could be betting a lot larger than that but 1 or 2 ton should be easily obtainable. although price might not hold long

They've gone with Sagawara in Sunday's Saint-Alary so that's good news for those hoping to see Dalkala line up in the Oaks imo. Certainly a run on Sunday would have defo seen her out and off to the Diane instead.

Sometimes I really do wonder about our Gallic chums. There's plenty of horses over there that would make a splash in the Oaks, Derby or Coronation Cup.
Much more a fan of the Aga's horses than the man himself anyway so at least we won't have to put up with his smug chops on Oaks day.

They appear to be leaning towards that supplementary entry I half-wondered about with Valyra.
As stated, she hasn't run in a Pattern or Listed race yet but make no mistake this could be the best of the Aga 3-y-o fillies. Don't wish to repeat myself but I really was very taken with her last run and clearly connections were too if she's being bumped up straight into a Diane.

Would love to know myself too, roo. Aga's hock-deep in decent 3-y-o fillies it's quite staggering nothing made the journey. The way their Derby panned out I would hope some French trainers are kicking themselves for not pointing any colts our way too?

I'm always a little wary of thinking horses are overpriced when only one firm's gone up.....but Hills are:
9 Dalkala 14 Sagawara 25 Valyra
All look big to varying degrees imo.

Some decking and a new sink is first port of call, sint
Half-thinking about smashing up Memphis Ten for the Gold Cup as an encore. Can anyone put me off?

If Ryan Moore had been booked then may be an option. But according to RP jocked up for Bridge of Gold so if he runs, may be being used as a pacemaker of some kind.
I know this type of horse might get away, but I think if they though he had some chance of winning Moore would have been booked and I am sure he would have taken that ride. However things change...
G/L if you do it, Saddler's Rock for me in that race however

I was thinking the trainer's son gets the leg up, Roo - no? Aren't the Fitris all ridden by Spencer?
He was my idea of the Leger winner until going wrong last season and I really think his price is an insult IF he runs. He's grown into a cracking looker and his form is there for all to see. If he gets the trip - and I certainly think he'd get at least 2 miles no problem - I think he wins. Certainly woudln't be going anywhere near the fav at around evens. Not much in hand of Opinion Poll, Colour Vision an improver, Saddlers best still to come, plus Memphis hopefully.

Of course HM you are right - trying to work and think about Ascot at the same time not a good idea. Might have another look at him later and whilst I agree the price differential between the two is too big, still have SR as the most likely winner other than the fav though not a race I want to overboard in.
Agree re Fame and Glory at the price but hard to knock his form and in truth will be hard to beat

Is Memphis Tennessee a definite runner? I got the impression after the Ormonde that he'd be running over middle distances and they thought he was pretty good. I expected to see him in the Hardwicke, and remember they left SYT and Excelebration in the other races till the last stage...

I don't think he is a definite, dta, no. I doubt the trainer thinks like this but was rather hoping he'd be happy to give the boy a ride in the Gold Cup and steer MT that way. You're right though he does have that Hardwicke entry and the yard leaving everything in till the last minute, don't they? Very frustrating.
