Kesampour could head to the Investec Derby after stretching his unbeaten record to four in the Prix Greffulhe at Saint-Cloud.
Pour Moi won the same Group Two prize 12 months ago before going on to clinch the Epsom Classic and Mikel Delzangles' charge is a best-priced 25-1 for the race. He was workmanlike rather than spectacular at the weekend but the trainer said: "He did not win easily, but he was very courageous, which was good to see. I need to talk to the owner before we make any decisions about where we go next." |

Dezangles :)
I like that ImperialMonarch too so will take heart from HomecommingQueens win. He's a smart won imo although I wonder if the more galloping layout of the curragh would suit him better :/ hmmm anyways I like him too. |

Not sure this French challenge is going to amount to much at Epsom.

Maybe something will come to the fore in the Prix Hocquart this weekend. Does anyone have the entries ?
They've been suffering from bad ground over there this spring as well. Mandour or Lunayir from the same ownership as Kesampour may run and also entered in the Derby may run. Possibly both could run. |

beryl 89 entries on france galop including mandour and lunayir, most of Fabres/AOB's stables
first forfeit tomorrow |

Kesampour duly won the 6-runner Prix Greffulhe (5 May) but look at the winning distances: head, half-a-length, short-head, length, 10 lengths.
You could chuck a horse blanket over the first five home and they can't all be Derby winners. |

We're in the last chance saloon for the Frenchies imo, but the MASTERSTROKE challenge still has some life in it.

he was very courageous in the greffulhe, but i wish he had won by further.its too early to say about his next race and there is no decision at the moment. quote by delzangles in r post today.. ps alain dupre does not expect to have a runner

@ The Headmaster -- not much life: barely twitching in fact. He won a conditions race that is not working out (those that have run since have been beaten) and is not even entered at Epsom.

Would be interested to know your thoughts on how those that have run out of the race have performed, Ramruma.

Wrote may be the next one to watch. Twice beaten by Daddy Long Legs so seemingly exposed but entered in the Derrinstown trial on Sunday, which implies Aidan O'Brien might have seen something we have not, since this race is often where he sends his best prospect (although this year, the Guineas was used, but Wrote might still be his number two).
Previous Ballydoyle winners include Galileo and High Chaparral, as well as Yeats and Fame And Glory. Health warning: I'm not looking at his pedigree or even his form till after the race. This is not a tip so much as a heads-up. |
|

Anything on those horses yet, Ramruma?
|
|
By:
If Masterstroke is supplemented at the end of the month, I'll look more closely but until then will content myself with the observation that the second came third in another conditions race and the third lost a maiden.
|
|
By:
I'd politely suggest it will be too bloody late by that stage! Do I detect you like to take a guarded, light-touch approach to ante-posting, Ramruma?
![]() Me, I'm a bit more of yer bull-in-a-China-shop type, know what I mean? ![]() |

Some seasons you see a two- or three-year-old colt that screams Derby winner. Not this time.
And I've seen Camelot! Though I did hear a quiet murmur from Noble Mission. But I'm not a trader, and I'm not after covering everything for a guaranteed 4/6 return on the day. This year Camelot makes the market so there is no need to panic. |

Spoils NRNB now- 16/1 Mandean tempting...

Masterstroke off the shortlist after the Prix Hoqart but Wrote is interesting in the Derrinstown trial this afternoon.

Kesampour will not travel to Epsom for the Investec Derby but stay home for the Jockey Club, says Aga Khan's racing manager Georges Rimaud |

FFS.
Aga not being very adventurous this year. I'd be tempted to let Dalkala take up her Oaks entry but that seems unlikely too. |

Would love to see him in the Leger but the French never run in that

Any rethinking going on? Seems to be some money for him in recent days
