TheFormMan - having put together such an awesome field of former greats, can you price that race up or at least tell me who your winner is?
On better ground I'd be all over Falbrav - about the last Flat horse I used to get truly excited to watch. He had one hell of a burst when asked for maximum effort.

Nah,that would not worry me sint, did the same thing last year, came back from running twice in asia to run in this race last year and ran a cracker finishing 3rd to Planteur and Sarafina.
Tomorrow is his perfect trip, perfect ground and its a pretty weak race compared to the last few years,i thought he would be 1/2 so im all in at 4/5
could not possibly price it up tom,i would be at it for hours tring to decide, besides a lot of them were milers and and this race is 10f so to many ifs buts and maybes regarding the trip and ground,so i will just make it easy and put another selection in the race and award victory to my beloved DYLAN THOMAS
and you can add MADURO to the field also,so gutted injury robbed us of the rest of this superstars career
Cirrus Des Aigles 4/5 Giofra 4/1 Reliable Man 5/1 Wigmore Hall 16/1 Saga Dream 33/1 Pagera 50/1Nah,that would not worry me sint, did the same thing last year
At the prices it has to be Giofra for me. I was very impressed with her last win, where she clocked a fast time. Cirres Des Aigles is obviously the one to beat, but I reckon he will have to run quite close to his best to concede her the fillies allowance. At the age of 6 he isn't going to be improving, he may struggle to remain quite so consistent and the Dubai race could quite easily have taken the edge off him.

Reliable Man has been backed a bit, fwiw.

I'm the proud owner of badge No.1 of the Cirrus fan club. But it's Reliable Man for me today. Unraced at 2 and we still don't know how good he is given his correct underfoot conditions. Should have plenty more to offer.
TFM, how have you worked out that this is Cirrus' perfect trip? Not sure I can go along with that.

It's easy to think Cirrus Des Aigles is a world beater and his best form is superb but he was beaten here last year and as the wiser contributors have pointed out both Giofra and Reliable Man have a fair bit going for them, certainly as horses that could well be consistently challenging alongside Cirrus Des Aigles at the top table this year.
This is rarely a weak race and there's usually a a few good ones that line up; personally i'll give Giofra the preference as she's completely unexposed and can continue her improvement.

Impressive from CDA. Looked omminous from the start once Peslier got to the front and dictated. Just kicked clear and lengthened in the straight and stretched the margin more. The horse in fine fettle at this moment but it wont last, he'll come off the boil at some stage.
It looked like Reliable Man might get second but the filly battled back and beat him a length. A good effort from her.

The opposition looked to offer little to me. The winner appears to revel in these conditions and if Frankel is upped to 1 1/4m and runs against this horse on soft ground he could cause Frankel problems. On fast ground Cirrus is still very good but beatable at Group 1 level and doubt he'd trouble Frankel on fast ground.
