The one horse to have dominated my attention at the Craven meeting was Valbchek. On just his second start, having made his debut only weeks earlier, he looked to have learnt a lot, showing speed and determination to beat off another smart colt. I made it a tremendously encouraging speed figure for such an inexperienced horse and if he can run as fast as this against better horses as he graduates through the ranks, he will be a massive player in something like the July Cup.

Howellsy, I think the strong winds yesterday played havoc with some of the final race times and using one allowance for the whole card will give distorted results. For me it was just an average handicap type performance, just my opinion though, good luck.

Needs to find around 20lbs to be a serious player, I was impressed with him in the last 50 yards though and with improvement quite likely this is not insurmountable. Good luck.
