David Casey now booked.

This is an interesting type for the race; he has all the hallmarks of a plan.

A good fourth in last year's Irish National he has been run only over hurdles over a totally inadequate 2 miles this term; one of which very interestingly he won.

His handicap mark has been therefore very well protected and he gets in with only a feather weight.

He had the option of the Irish National and has been held back for this race.

so there you have it:
well handicapped
trained by Mullins
looks to have been plotted up
owned by JPM
going perfect
stays forever
jumps well.

Now all of this is interesting enough - a bit of a yawn - as there are maybe a few others you can say the same about.

However the absolute bonus is that instead, with a profile as described, of being amongst the leading market fancies, he is available at around 75 or 80 on here (Ladbrokes remain a more realistic 25/1!

I have never seen a better value 80/1 shot in 40 years following racing.

You have a decent chance of making a lot of money. he is not a faultless candidate but the price is silly.

Agreed, there will be plenty sayin he wont stay but he has only ever had the one run(Irish National 3m5f) over 3m+ ad i thought he ran a cracker in that, which qualified him for this

Has form on soft ground which looks to be a plus here - been kept over hurdles since the Irish National which looks like they were mindin their mark, solid jumper, low weight
