Early thoughts:-

Interested in whichever of twiston davies decides to turn up.Linnel also interesting for the shrewd Arthur Moore stable.

Prominent racer who likes good ground.

Triangular trounced rivals lto, but Amigayle has a big weight pull and will enjoy carrying a lower weight over the course. Can see her running very well if being allowed to run. A real long shot is Gansey, a real rhythm horse could punch above weight if given its head.

I see where youre coming from with Aimigayle. This could be just the type of race it could excel in. Am I right in saying its only got one eye?
Also Gansey could easily go well if it can cut out the odd mistake (made two shudderers under Ruby here at the start of the season). He jumped the fences well when loose in last years race before running out and looks as if hes been campaigned with a repeat bid in mind. The stables on fire just now too which is a plus and he ran as well as could be expected at Cheltenham last time as I dont think its a course that suits.
Twiston Davies seems to be campaigning Nikola in a very similair way as he did Irish raptor though I wasnt impressed the way it ran at Aintree last time.

i think it was another suzy smith horse with one eye -possible Material World -but i could be mistaken.

Yes, Gansey would appear laid out and smith bang in.  Another one from hers is Aurora Encore  -not in this race, but if runs at the meeting will be carrying some cash from me.

Auroras Encore - that name sends shivers down my spine. Went to the Scottish National to back it and Merigo and decided to only back that one. It fell at the first and Merigo went and won. What made it worse was AE went and won next time out.
Bugger. Yep, youre right, it was Material World that had one eye. Game as a pebble.
Im backing Mr Moonshine next time, whether it runs at Aintrre or Ayr. 2 1/2 miles on a flat track in lesser company should be right up its street. Hopefully it'll go to Ayr.

AE also gives me the quivers. had been following it over hurdles it fell twice, then won quite cosily @ 50-1 at aintree, was sick that day. He back to a winning mark now over both sets and would no surprise to run at haydock Sat, win and run under penalty at aintree. Gansey entered same race. Worth watching.

I wouldn't be remotely surprised if Linnel didn't shrug off his last two runs and return to the form which saw him run so close in December. He is already 7lbs higher, which doesn't worry me, plus the strong possibility of a fair few pounds overweight. He also has two entries at Fairyhouse on the 9th.

My initial bet is Triangular who despite a hefty increase for his facile win at Newbury falls into the "back until beaten" category. 14/1 is acceptable. His trainer's comments last week were encouraging, at least this appears to be his target.

I do like Triangular, but would have fanied him in the 3m h'cap chase. He will be carrying a fair bit of weight in the Topham, and just thinking there will be something lurking at the bottom. He is an improver and will probably carry some a saver on the day.

Sorry if Tartak runs, he will have a decent weight. Not sure if he will run in this though and if not cant see the next 3-4 running.

I would want Billie Magern, especially after his Cheltenham run. Close to the pace over 3 miles then tired out of the places late on, also seems to go on most types of ground.

Gansey out this afternoon and has been well backed since yesterday evening. Lets see which one turns up!

God, you couldnt have made it up. Auroras first, Gansey 3rd. Surely AE couldnt back up in the SN could he? Could he?...

Trip will be plenty short enough, but Fabalu will give you a great run for your money.

guess which one i backed!!   Just thought conditiions of trip and ground, wouldnt be too AE's liking but proved wrong.  Was out and about yesterday and to be honest the result didnt surprise me, i done them in a twist forecast!!!  Gansey will be interesting when it runs from the front - like all his wins Jason Maguire!!!
