Initial entries have been made for the Grade 1 Powers Gold Cup on Easter Sunday at Fairyhouse.
At first look Peter Casey's exciting Flemenstar looks like the one they all have to beat. The Charles Byrne's trained mare Knockfierna will be an interesting runner if talking on the boys. She has a line of form with the Cheltenham Gold Cup favourite Sir Des Champs.
Willie Mullins has made four enties with Call The Police and Blackstairmountain looking the pick of his. Rathlin looks like being the Gigginstown House representative. White Star Line ran a big race when second to Hunt Ball at the Cheltenham Festival and is an intriguing runner in what could be a decent renewal.

I'd fancy Call the Police e/w, didn't get the 3m of the RSA and ran a blinder to be 3rd given Mullins String were all running below par. Horse was only in RSA as they knew he had no chance against the superstar Sir des Champs in Jeweson.
Though Flemenstar is a serious oss. Rathlin is a good un too. |
