Yes it's a long time off and there is plenty of excellent jumping taking place, but with the recent announcement that the Queen is attending the Derby, it got me looking at potential/coincidence winners.
Step forward: IMPERIAL MONARCH, handsome colt, superbly bred, trained by a genius.

queen does go every year, but this year the derby is held on the diamond jubilee long weekend
with a name like imperial monarch it will be well backed on the day, all being well with the horse

Elisjohn, a few months ago I asked BF to add Loi to the Derby betting.
Loi won the Prix Conde last season in good fashion. The lad he beat was 2nd yesterday in Dubai to Daddy Long Legs. The third that day has since won a listed race. The 4th and 5th ran in Mandaean's group 1 and we beaten the same distance by him as they were by Loi.
After the Conde, Loi's trainer; Jean Marie Beguigne stated he may be more of a Derby horse that a Jockey Club horse 'because he is a galloper'.
His sire his Lawman out of a 12-14 furlong winning mare.
He is entered to run in the Prix La Force at Longchamp this week over 1m 2.5f won by Baraan last year with Pour Moibehind him.
He is NOT yet entered in the Derby but should he run very well this week then that might change.
I believe the winner of the Epsom Derby Trial will get a wildcard into the main event this year so that could possibly be a route.
I'm on at fantasy prices to small stakes.
It's not my 120 quid but I also spotted it and was intrigued.

I think you might be right on the 2nd entry stage and having to pay to stay in - don't know for sure though.
The Epsom Derby Trial should be a much better race this year given the incentive of a wildcard into the main event. I think we'll see much a much bigger field and a better quality field than in previous years imo.

Always fascinating to watch the antepost markets but can turn you into a paranoid wreck.
Fancied apollo to take charge in the Derby market and you think to yourself 'nice hes around the low 30's etc' then you log on and hes doubled in price over night...
what are you meant to think haha?

Did you know that Stencive is owned by someone possibly the owner of Investec, the sponsors of the race. Don't thank me I saw it from Mark Howard on RUK today.

very interesting stuff that about the Diamond Jubilee and Imperial Monarch, that would be some story, one of the horses that won at the Curragh last Sunday week gave the horses form a little bit of a boost too...

Parish Hall at 20-1 looks a good anti post bet at the moment, he has the pedigree to win a Derby, the best form , the Dewhurst form receiving a boost with the Craven Stakes winner, a trainer who knows what it takes to win the Derby and has also trained the winner of a Derby trial this season. If Parish Hall runs a good race in the Guineas he wont be 20-1 for the Derby. Just hope the ground is not soft at Epsom on Derby day.

Bronterre who finished close behind Parish Hall in Dewhurst beaten today at Newbury, winner gave Wrote's form bit of a boost, hard to find an alternative to Camelot at the minute, dont see Parish Hall as a serious contender myself, had 5 or 6 runs as a 2 yr old
