How big a horse is Planet of Sound - how would he cope if top weight? Though no idea if the plan is to run.

Bugger only had a very small bet on POS at 10s this morning. Always easy to say after the event
HM - great spot again. However though it won very easily, still had a race on heavy a week ago. Think the ground may suit POS better - or should I say I hope it does |

When will CB get his new mark following his win at he weekend? If it is this week and he gets a severe hike, they may choose to go to the well again with a penalty. I would still have my same reservations.

HM - didn't the trainer do the same thing with the same horse after his previous win at the track and ran him in the Welsh National?

Yes - ran well in the Welsh Nash I thought. As a general rule, trainers find the prospect of running off an old mark irresistible, don't they? Of those that are left in there don't appear to be too many horses 'going forward' here....the market will like a novice that's improivng running off an old mark, I reckon. Concerns over ground and right-handed track are fully justified though.

SATURDAY'S feature 3m handicap chase at Kempton has lost its favourite after Hold On Julio was ruled out by trainer Alan King.
The highly progressive former point-to-point and hunter chase winner had to miss the Sky Bet Chase at Doncaster last month through coughing and King will not have him ready in time for Kempton. He will now head straight to Cheltenham, where he is favourite for the JLT Specialty Handicap Chase. King said: "He is on his way back but he's done only two strong bits since he coughed and Saturday's race will just come too soon for him." |

ok fair enough and i've just watched his 3rd at thurles in heavy ground when he was rated 95 but did appear to get the trip an 18lb rise tho' for me is massive especially whenthe going on saturday could ride good and all his wins are on soft/heavy

Ground conditions will dictate whether Ted Walsh allows prolific winner Seabass to take his chance in the Racing Plus Chase at Kempton on Saturday.
The nine-year-old is unbeaten in his last six starts in Ireland and has landed valuable handicaps at Limerick and Leopardstown. But with conditions at Kempton currently drying out, Walsh is concerned the ground will not suit his charge. Seabass also has the option of running in the Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse on Saturday, or the paddypower.com Chase at Naas on Sunday. "It all depends on the weather," said Walsh. "They are calling the ground good at Kempton and are even talking about watering if the rain doesn't come, which tells me it is pretty quick - that wouldn't suit our horse. "We've also got him at Fairyhouse and Naas and we'll just see which way the weather is going later in the week. "We'd like to go to Kempton, but the trouble is you can travel over and then be tempted to run - even if the ground isn't right. "It's not the same as going down the road to Naas or Fairyhouse and deciding not to run." Kempton clerk of the course Barney Clifford said watering was a possibility. He said on Tuesday afternoon: "There is the possibility of us getting a couple of millimetres of rain on Wednesday evening, so we'll see if that materialises and go from there, but it would be nice. "There has been plenty of moisture in the ground, as you would expect for this time of year, but it is drying out a bit and I wouldn't rule out putting five millimetres of water on during Thursday and Friday if we don't get much more rain. "I'm only contemplating it at the moment and I won't make any decision on watering until Thursday. "I'm aiming to maintain good ground for Saturday." |

So wont be running ( Seabass ) on Fruity at 14s e/w,race cut nicely must have big chance if cutting out on jumping errors. Poor quality all waiting for Festival, im sure Hold On Julio would have won this,but they dont want penalty i presume. And i know has been coughing recently but is a player at Cheltenham for sure.

Evan Williams is tempted to allow Deep Purple to continue his John Smith's Grand National preparations in Saturday's Racing Plus Chase at Kempton.
A winner of his only start this season in Sandown's London National, Deep Purple has begun to show more of a stamina capacity at the age of 11, as he has spent most of his career running at between two and a half and three miles. "I think there's a fairly dry forecast and as long as the ground doesn't get testing, I think he could run," said the trainer. "He would have a lot of weight but it's very good prize-money. I hadn't thought about the National before he ran at Sandown, but now you'd have to say it's definitely on the cards." Williams could have another interesting runner or two on the day as he has entered ex-John Oxx pair Kayalar and Zarzal in both the williamhill.com Adonis Juvenile Hurdle and the williamhill.com Dovecote Novices' Hurdle. "They finished first and second on their first runs for me in a maiden at Lingfield the other day and I could run both of them. I'm really looking forward to seeing how Kayalar gets on," Williams added. |

Genuinely think Michel Le Bon is primed for this. They tried OAT combination with Fistral Beach didn't they - I am sure this has been the target for a while. Yard quiet re coughing but Paul said on Twitter today that Michel is in 'A1' nick.
7's won't be there come Saturday. He can beat this lot - Planet of Sound - Danger but sharp enough track. Nacarat - In decline Fruity - too lowly rated, lucky win LTO Seabass - Doubtful runner, trip problems Cannington - Wants it soft, will he run ? Slow coach (or so they thought) Mount Oscar - Can't have it Hectors Choice - Danger BUT ready on time ? Deep Purple - GN Aim Billie - Likes the ground but not in same class Consigliere - Running or not ? Trip. Ground. No. Royal Charm - Likely NR Sarando - What has happened to him ? Soixante - Not good enough. Michel it is. Won't be a 144 horse end of season, mark is way too low. Ability intact, fitness post Newbury now assured. Good jumper. Target trained by Champion Trainer. |

Fruity o'rooney for me ticks all the boxes, twice over! Running off a great mark which he has shown to surpass on last 4 runs. Handicapper has given him a really easy time, will love the ground and distance and ground again.
Having a good e/w bet on this. 9/1 is value. |
