I HAVE A FEELING THAT THIS COULD BE A BIT OF A PLOT FOR THE FESTIVAL, HAVING WON THE OTHER DAY AT KELSO ON THE BRIDLE HIS CONFIDENCE WOULD OF BEEN GIVEN A GREAT BOOST, EVERYONE KNOWS THAT HE HAS A MASSIVE AMOUNT OF TALENT WHICH HAS YET TO BE REALISED, BUT GIVEN HE NEEDS A FAST PACE TO COME OFF AND BETTER GROUND HE LOOKS TO ME LIKE A BIT OF A PLOT FOR THE GRAND ANNUAL, THE TRAINER LOVES THE RACE AND THIS HORSE IS GOING TO GET IN THE RACE WITH NO WEIGHT AND IT TO ME LOOKS LIKE HE IS SET TO RUN A BIG RACE, THAT IS IF HE GOES FOR THIS RACE, IT SEEMS LOGICAL TO ME BUT MAYBE THERES ANOTHER ON THE HORIZON AT THE FESTIVAL WHO KNOWS BUT THAT RACE LOOKS A FANTASTIC CHANCE FOR A HORSE WITH TONNES OF TALENT.

I forgot about this thread because a day or so before I read this.

Nicky Henderson’s exciting six-year-old grey Simonsig, ridden by Barry Geraghty, lifted the £15,000 BetVictor – sponsored Morebattle Hurdle in brilliant style on a memorable afternoon’s jumping action at Kelso on Wednesday 15 February.

Simonsig (2-7 fav), owned by Ronnie Bartlett, cruised to victory from the gallant Knockara Beau in the two-mile two-furlong showcase in front of a 2200 crowd to clinch trebles at the meeting for Henderson and Geraghty.

Lyvius (4-6 fav), owned by Trevor Hemmings, impressed on his hurdling debut and Bellvano (5-4 fav) starred in the novices’ chase for the all-conquering Lambourn yard in the glorious winter sunshine.

“I’ve always hoped Simonsig might be a bit special and I think he probably is. He was impressive. Lyvius will improve an awful lot and Bellvano will be aimed at Aintree. It’s been a great day and Kelso have looked after us wonderfully well,” said Henderson.

fair play to you my man hope you chopped it off large...after seeing Barry gwtting beqat on it at Newbury early in the season im wrote the horse off as many did as a bridle ponce.....eat humble pie,.....what did make me laugh was when he got beat at Newbury watched the race in a Billy Hills shop the horse got called a rarse pension teeth by a colourful punter cracked me up however i fell in the trap of thinking the same...sometimes we are too quisk to write off the horses..for a 1 bad run ,,,,,another lesson learnt
