looks bomb proof imo even if he is short.
Was not tuned up like Kauto fto and will turn the table imo

Quite simply should be odds on here imho
Rated 16lbs higher than Bobs over hurdles and nowt I have seen suggests he aint AT LEAST as good as he was over hurdles
Jumps very well , travels like a Rolls Royce

Ran much better in the Foghting 5th than he did last year suggesting his programme is right on cue
Loves it here and Overturn Shirley has had too much racing now and ROR is not in this class YET imho.

Long Run should do the business.
Kempton wouldn't be the best track for Grand Crus and his record going right handed is pretty shocking. And Binocular can't have him at all think Rock on Ruby should b ok. |

Silviniaco Conti 4/1 Rock on Ruby 9/4 Master Minded 7/1 Good day for Nicholls? I think possibly so. Don't like Binocular myself. He's disappointed the last 3 runs and has not looked the horse that won the Champion Hurdle in any run since. Think Overturn will be tough to peg back but may finally pay for a lot of runs in 2011. Grand Crus will face tough opposition from both Henderson and Nicholls in the shape of Bobs Worth and Silviniaoc Conti. As others have said, Grand Crus seems better on the undulations of a track like Cheltenham and his record of 0/3 RH is a worry too. I think Long Run will win myself but Master Minded, of he stays, could give him a fright. |

Funny game of opinions as ever! It's Long Run that I don't like in this bet.
Binocular is a hard horse to catch right but second run of the year - and this race - has worked well in the past. He wins again for me, and I am confident Grands Crus will absolutely smash up in the Feltham. Just believe he is a real monster and a future Gold Cup winner with much more class than the other two admittedly very good horses. But Long Run, although a supremely talented horse, should never be 5/4 in such a good race. It's a way better renewal than 12 months ago and there must be a lingering doubt as to the quality of last term's formlines with Kauto not at his best all season. Add to that the fact that his jumping is an ongoing issue (worse than ever at Haydock, and more pace than usual up front here to make this a real test) and Sam Waley-Cohen is never going to outride the likes of Ruby or Barry in a close finish, and this horse cannot possible be a 5/4 chance. I still make him the likeliest winner but I think he should be nearer 9/4 or even 5/2, and for that reason.... I'm out. |

Binocular has been beaten a total of 26.5 lengths in his last three starts so would n't be keen on getting involved there.
I see tomdeane's point re. Long Run - the thing that puts me off him a bit is that it took him all of the 3m 2f to get on top in the Gold Cup so he could be vulnerable to the speedier types (Kauto definitely under-performed last year for me) but both Kauto and MM have become prone to throwing in the odd bad race and then you've got the stamina concerns with Master Minded. Of the three, Grands Crus would seem the most likely but even then the opposition looks decent, would n't even discount Mr. Moonshine and Teaforthree in that race plus Nicholls (Silviniaco Conti) has a line on Grands Crus through Sonofvic. So, struggling for a bet in any of those races at the mo' - Captain Chris each way in King George makes most appeal. |

That's a very good point about Long Run needing the extra half-furlong to assert himself in the Gold Cup. 2.5 furlongs less round a speed favouring track like Kempton against champion chasers and arkle winners/runner-ups could be his undoing. Although I assume the pace will be pretty generous with Nacarat and Golan Way in the field, and Kauto Star, who did from the front at Haydock.
