I have been looking at going to Champions Day for a while but have left it too late for the premier enclosure. I don't want to spend £250 getting there only to find the grandstand is as bad as it looks.
What is the viewing like? Should it be alright with the limited crowd or should I stay at home?
i have to be honest and tell the view from tatts isnt very good, the year it reopened i bought seats in tatts for the royal meeting, they are far to low to see a race as you would wish to,you will as ever have the option of buying tickets from touts.

I was thinking of going as well, but if Premier is sold out then I shall watch on TV. The viewing is not great unless you can get upstairs (Premier). Even on the steps you still end up watching the large majority of the races on the screens.

Thanks for the advice lads. I think I will give it a miss. That will learn me for not booking early. Hopefully Frankel will run at York next year, that would suit me alot better. Cheers again.

forget viewing...the grandstand is poorly built with a wind tunnel effect. went on sagaro stakes day. steaming hot 25c sunny, cloudless yet it was freezing in artic temperatures in the grandstand watching the races.
so take a good overcoat and a scarf. Will be freezing...probably -5 maybe more with the wind chill.
not fishing....straight up true.
