Sorry, ignore the rhetorical question concerning JPO'B losing the ride on Wading in the Rockfel - he's presumably lost the ride because he'd have to put up a couple of pounds overweight. But the other riding arrangements are, shall we say, a bit inconsistent... Seamie Heffernan must be feeling especially aggrieved.

The way I see is that they view Ryan Moore as the best rider and he will ride their best horses in the top
races. In the lesser races ,even a group 3 in this case their not really that bothered who they put up. In some cases I think they put up the Ballydoyle rider who has been riding that horse a lot at home. Ryan Moore is a cut above the other Ballydoyle riders and it only enhance the chances of Power that he's riding it. |

My understanding is that they want to use the best available. Ryan Moore is the best available, at riding newmarket. Obviously at the Curragh Heffernan shouldn't be replaced as he is one of the best at riding that track.
Personally I don't see why he is travelling over for 1 ride on an unfancied runner. Also I feel they are offering big rides to moore with one eye on the future, to convince him it would be worth becoming stable jockey. |
