Dare To Dance worries me and I will have a decent saver on him but my main, all be it highly speculative, bet is Maali at 100/1+. Clive Brittains horses were running like drains when he got beat last time but the stable has come back to form in the last 2 weeks so hopefully this one can show marked improvement.

Have been backing Breakheart for last few weeks, and found out early this week it is a non-runner; so I have had a few more £ on Stevie Thunder. Horse ran ok in Camb 2 years ago; runs of roughly same mark this year. Form trailed off, but back this Autumn with two wins. Watched video of its last win and after a bit of stoking ran on well and looked as though there was a bit more to come..40/1 in a place. Decent bet I think.(unless its withdrawn overnight)a

Noseda just on ATR will walk course tomorrow re Fav, doesnt sound too optismistic?
By:
Noseda didn't expect the fav to get in he said, and now he has, he's moaning about the ground. Sounds like he doesn't really fancy it imo, and was hoping to miss out and make the decision for him.

Hope it runs as way too short for me?

Nanton each way at 40-1 first five must have a terrific chance. Will be completely written off because of his age but has been 2nd and 3rd in his 2 runs in the race as a 6&7 year old but bear in mind when he was 3rd in 2009 he had been 2nd in the Zetland off 92 but won it this year off 98 and won the mallard off 98 and almost won it this year off 102. He runs tomorrow off the same mark as in 2009, has proven he can hump big weights, is in form, loves the C&D and ground and granted a clear passage will be finishing better than most.

A lowish draw looks like an advantage plus front runners have had a big edge this week, having said
that the biasies are unlikely to be as significant beyond a mile. Man of action looks very progressive, having ran on very well from a poor draw at goodwood he then showed a dramatic turn of foot off a very slow pace at doncaster and finished full of running. Dettori should be able to get him accross to the rail from stall 14 and he'll bounce of the fast ground. If the race was over 1m I'd be wading in big time but the extra furlong is a big doubt. Horse's that tend to win this stay 1 1/4m and he looks a specialist miler to me. With fast ground and a hopefully a tailwind maybe he'll last and I'll be having a small bet on him. |

rp selection is man of action

At what price?

Could be a different price in the paper.

Im going for both the Godolphin runners, the 66-1 Was a bit to big to miss, most of the recent Cambs winners have either won here or on the July course in big fields so MOA is my main pick
Wouldnt rule out Circumvent,Red Gulch or Riggins, but ya cant back em all!! |
By:
Proponent
By:
Wrong side maybe TTF??
By:
gone for shavansky here. win and place
By:
Albaqaa, circumvent and Nanton for me win only, the latter looked the best I've ever seen him at donny the other week.
By:
Pintura my main selection, won't mind it fast, trip looks ideal, consistent as they come and draw handy enough
By:
still Man of Action for me also. Extra furlong is the worry but at least the ground is in his favour and he is sufficiently lightly raced to suggest he can win off 99. He has a piece of form when 2nd to Side Glance conceding 6lb, which could see him win this easy. Just needs to get the trip.
By:
pendragon for me, race wasn't run to suit for him last year, probably better with the better ground, looks like this has been the target 33/1 GL
By:
From What Noseda stated on C4 looks a non runner? He certainly doesnt want to run it!
By:
Dare To dance that is.
By:
It doesn't seem right to me that with Dare to dance unlikely to run the layers can compress the price on BF
to make a bigger rule 4 deduction, he's presently 9.5/1 there yet 10/1 with the bookies. i don't know exactly what Bf's rule 4 rules are but I've seen this sort of compression happen before on horses unlikely to run and it leaves a bad taste. |

One I like from a back to lay perspective is Nice style, strong pace should suit and a decent 7lb claimer on, I think he'll trade a lot lower in running.
By:
uncle, have had a few quid on Maali also. Largely because you pointed him out but does have a decent piece of form with Alkimos imo
Pintura the main bet those two for me gl |
By:
close for me, but no cigar
By:
An absolute farce in the end imo. Who would have guessed the whole field would have gone to the high drawn numbers!??!
Man of Action got no run at all and finished full of running. ![]() |
By:
annoying thing (other than another damn second); is I think Breakheart would have like the going today..its been struggling on softish ground...
By:
MOA never off the bridle !!
By:
First 2 winners ran along the Golden HIghway up the far
rail yet the next race they decide too keep off the fastest part of the track and in the Cambridgeshire they gradually move over to the slowest part of the racecourse. Virtually impossible to predict beforehand and a great advert for the chaos/random theory of racing and lemmings effect. |
By:
Good old Nanton, keeps the wolves from the door for a week or two. Annoying that he whooped the winners backside in the Zetland earlier this year but that one got first run today. Would not be a happy chap if had backed Man Of Action, would hardly be blowing after that and is clearly a winner in waiting. Good run from Proponent again, too consistent for his own good!

By:
I'm not ! Was on at 16's

By:
It was a joke race. No early gallop and then the entire field making a beeline for the near rail for no apparent reason. Jockeys never cease to amaze me with their idiocy.
By:
Worst race I have seen in years
I reckon there were at least 6-8 runners that had absolutely no chance after trouble who were going well Questioning Roayh MOA to name but 3 Form of the race should be taken with a pinch imo |
By:
One of the few races where I think it could be said that the whole field got a crap ride.
