NOBLE MISSION, a brother of the brilliant Frankel, is on course to make his debut at the beginning of next month.

Like his sibling, Noble Mission is owned by Khalid Abdullah and trained by SirHenry Cecil, who is happy with the two-year-old.

Abdullah's racing manager Teddy Grimthorpe said on Saturday: "He's in great shape. I saw him the other night and Henry is very pleased with him.

"It's slightly bad luck for him who his brother his, but he's a very good sort and we hope to see him race early October."

Looks like the 2000 Guineas bets are not dead just yet!

I persuaded Willhill to lay me 50/1. not a big bet, just enough to win a coule of grand.

A ludicrous price though. The second full brother tends to be not as goos as the first for some reason. I am sadly old enough to remember Centurius. He was Grundy's full brother and although useful, he was not genuine or anything like as brilliant as Grundy. 100/1 would be a more realistic price for an unraced horse, whatever its breeding. I won't be laying off though that's for sure.
