No Canford, no Frankel, a regressive Goldikova. May only have beaten RDLP today but ground concerns were there and it was a comfortable victory. On the sounder surface surely must have a huge chance if he goes. 7/1 with PP.

wouldnt rush to take the price though as opposition dependant might be a fair price on the us tote on the evening? botti hardly a household name over there though change of ownership wont help in that score |

£212,000 for finishing 2nd to Frankel in the QEII is a bit hard to turn down imo.

I would imagine that he will stay in training next year, probably at Ballydoyle given that they have bought into him.
If that is the case then I would expect any foreign trips to be delayed until next Season. |

Excellebration's best trip is probably 7f as he has that much pace. Thats exactly what you need in a 2 turn
breeders cup on fast ground. Doubt they'll take on Frankel and Immortal Verse on likely soft ground at Ascot. Coolmore are very much guided by what will enhance a horses stud value and for that reason I think they will run in the Breeders Cup, but wouldn't back him until they confirm it. |

Could they go for the Foret with him?
It would be some race if Excelebration, Goldikova,Strong Suit and Moonlight Cloud all turned up. Probably still an easier task than taking on Frankel again though! |

They'll probably face soft again though. He's classy enough to win these mile races on soft ground but
basically a fast ground horse. That run today in far from ideal conditions will have taken a lot out of this lightly framed horse and my guess he'll need a decent break to get over it. |

It was quite testing when he won in Germany, but I agree his turn of foot is much more potent on Good or faster. Breeding would suggest so aswell being by Exceed & Excel.

Obviously anything can happen with the weather but the ground isn't usually soft for the QE2 and I still think they'll keep to that plan. I'm pretty sure he wasn't ideally suited to today's conditions but I doubt it would've taken too much out of him. It's generally when horses run to their optimum that they feel the effects, Excelebration didn't do that today.

I don't know much about breeding but thats interesting. The newbury performance suggests he has improved and given decent ground over 7f or an easy 1m he could be a superb horse, the performance today were he plugged on whilst disliking conditions camouflauges this, which is ideal for betting in a future event as the full extent of his ability has yet to be fully disclosed. |

Arc day has not had soft ground very often in the last few years, 7f round there could be ideal.

QEII is three weeks later than normal though Figg.
Was impressed today and he really deserved that as I think he would be a champion in any other year. Before the sale MB was talking about taking on Frankel again but today was less sure. My guess is he will go to the BC where he would have a serious chance rather than Ascot where he wouldnt. |

Ah yes, jonibake, I was forgetting that. It is on the straight course though so hopefully it won't be too bad.

She does indeed, but Excelebration, if he goes, will probably be the best horse she'll have ever had to deal with out there.

goldikova is regressive, no doubt. that doesnt mean excelebration will beat her tho. my money will be on excel

Thinking about it, Coolmore probably wouldn't want another one of their high profile purchases being beaten by Frankel again (Canford Cliffs) so they may go to the States I suppose and 8/1 will look a good price on the day if they do.
I'd rather not bet though and just wait and see what happens, but definitely think like most people he would beat Goldikova even though he has not reached those dizzy heights yet. |

I won't be having any more on for now, and someone made a good point to me earlier. The Yanks will smash into Goldi, so he may be a decent price with them if he turns up.

What a purchase for Coolmore....all the hype about Frankel which is justified...this beauty has slipped under the radar.
He was very impressive last time out and Breeders Cup on the Dirt would be perfect for me and then possibly stand him in the states. Whatever they paid for him its a bargain now!!!! |

Botti won the Goodwood Handicap with Gitano Hernando @ Santa Anita in 09. The American mile contenders are ripe for the picking as usual. Courageous Cat and Gio Ponti are solid horses, but lack the turn of foot of some of the top euros

7/1 is big if they intend to run if they don't then it's obviously a very poor price.
Since Ballydoyle has had a stake in him there hasn't been a word about whether they intend to run at Ascot or the breeders cup or both. If botti was calling the shots I'm sure he'd run at AScot ,especially with the distinct posiblity of fast ground. Ballydoyle though must be aware he's got very little chance of beating Frankel and that it isn't going to do his stallion value any good by getting slammed by him again. Ballydoyle may see it different from a stud value point of view and in this case I don't think there's a great deal to gain from pre-judging what they will do. |

Sorry lads - it's just been confirmed that he runs in the QEII next and that trip to America is not on the cards. Should be a great race at Ascot though!
