I believe the St Leger is split into 3 groups - Classic generation, Very good handicappers and no hopers

Classic Generation

Blue Bunting: Has had a fantastic season only disappointment was the english guineas but has shown improved performance since.  Its got an age allowance and also has the profile of previous winning fillies in that it has won the Oaks.  Outstanding chance.

Seville

Ran badly in the Derby, but subsequent runs in the Irish derby and the Grand Prix race suggests horse is much better than shown against Sea Moon.  I like the horse but for me always gets beat by one too good.

Sea Moon

Although has not raced in the classics, I feel he should be put in this category as would have probably turned up in the Derby but of Carlton House, so left him in for later in the season. On form and pedigree can be regarded as the classic generation.  Whether he will win is difficult to predict. Sir Micheal Stoute has had a awful season by his standards, Moore injured ... Hughes on CENSUS ... Peslier on board.  I would swerve this one.

Very Good Handicappers

Census

Masked Marvel

Brown Panther

These three horses are very closely matched, Brown Panther beat Census and Census reversed that form more recently.  Also Masked Marvel beat Census (only just).  I dont think there is much to choose from these three.  Out of the three you probably have to give more consideration to Masked Marvel, only because of the trainer.  But I will be suprised if any of these are as good as the Classic generation, I think 4th 5th or 6th is the best they will get.

No hopers

Buthelezi
Freedom
Genius Beast
Rumh

I actually like Genius Beast, he has raced against Frankel as a 2yo, but been slightly disappointing in subsequent runs.  What suprises me is that they forked out 45k for Rumh to be supplemented, but they had already had Genius Beast.  I wonder if the connections are expecting a big run from this one.  At 66/1 its worth a each way nibble.

But the one I like is Blue Bunting, think this horse has one more race in him... only does enough to get his head in front but I think the extra 2 furlongs will play to his strengths.  Good luck

Note: Also in regards to peslier riding Sea Moon...I wouldnt be suprised if they have pencilled him on Workforce for the Arc, if Moore is not fit. Dont think he is the best jockey for Sea Moon.

Sea Moon missed Epsom because of a setback not because of Carlton House.

On the nail Iris I'm with you 100% on this. For me Blue Bunting stands out H&S above the rest as THE class horse in this race. As I've stated elsewhere I have plenty on as a result of Dream Ahead. Very tough Filly who will take a lot of beating. Sea Moon has one Grp win to his name I wouldn't want my shirt & boxers nailed to the mast on the strength of that.

Can I also add in BB's first 2 wins she was headed both times & rallied to regain the lead & win, not signs of a quitter when the 'chips are down'.

Seville doesn't stay??

That is a bold statement and I'm not sure how you can be so cocky, he seemed to get 1m4f pretty well in Grand Prix de Paris and Irish Derby, in fact I would say all he did was stay!
