Desperate.
The 3 years are not that good. I can say harsher stuff but its too early on a Sunday for that sort of language.
They arent good enough.
The wild card in the division was Uncle Mo. I was against him for the Triple Crown. Mainly because I rememeber his dad, Indian Charlie, getting beat in the Derby albeit to two high quality horsies in Real Quiet and Victory Gallop but all the talk post race last night was about the Dirt Mile. Thought he did well last night and it could be a nice chance to build a credible Classic challenge but the Dirt Mile talk is disappointing.
Some of the others are even more annoying...Await the Dawn, Sidneys Candy and Gio Ponti. GOOD GRIEF. Somes up the dirt division as a whole.
Will discount the West Coast horsies as I think they just seem to beat each other week after week.
Started to look at my old favourite...the Stephen Forster Handicap which in turn has lead me nicely to the Whitney. The SF usually produced a few top notch 10f dirt performers and in some cases the eventual Classic winner so it was nice to see Tizway smash most of the SF field to bits in the Whitney. He really did. You tube it. he smashed them. he's on a nice roll now. 2 from 2. Gutted it out in the Metroploitan G1 around Belmont and then a solid, classy win in the Whitney. He's building momentum nicely and his trainer James Bond (no mug) has already targetted the classic.
He's looking the one now.

tizway won't stay imo.
last time he tried 1m2f in the 09 jockey club he was even outstayed by quality road.
the whitney was slowly run, and he's out of a dayjur mare.

Can't say I follow the USA racing but is Animal Kingdom likely to run - won the Kentucky Derby over C+D, ran OK in the Preakness and had excsues last time in the Belmont. 50's on here which look shuge, so I'm guessing he's injured or not being aimed at the race

I thought this was interesting about Tizway...
Tizway, a 6-year-old son of two-time Breeders’ Cup Classic winner Tiznow, won the Whitney Handicap (G1) by three lengths, earning an automatic berth in the 2011 Classic and stamping himself as the favorite for Horse of the Year when summer turns to autumn. Jockey Rajiv Maragh asked Tizway for speed out of the gate so the horse would get position. The horse gave him the speed and got the position, third behind battling leaders.
When Maragh asked Tizway to run with 400 yards to go, the horse took off, rolling away from the field and making 4-1 look like the bargain of the year. Tizway had won the Metropolitan Handicap (G1) with flair on May 30, but that was a mile. This was a 1 1/8th miles. Could he run just as fast going another 200 yards? The answer was a definitive yes.
The final time, as it often is, was not very helpful. It was a very slow 1:52.43. When you compare that with the 1:32.90 mile the horse ran in May, it does not compare well.
Until you account for the relative speed of the surface at Belmont Park in the Met Mile to Saratoga on Whitney Day. The Belmont track was very fast while the Saratoga track was yielding exceedingly slow times. The difference between the two surfaces was more than five seconds over a route of ground.
So, once the relative speed of the surfaces is accounted for, Tizway ran nearly identical in the Whitney and Met Mile. The horse got a career-best 113 Beyer figure in the Met and a 111 in the Whitney. And those are the kinds of numbers that can win the Classic.

Tomorrow night is the Woodward. Good trial...Alysheba, Cigar, Ghostzapper, St Liam, Curlin all took this enroute to Classic glory with Easy Goer 2nd to Sunday Silence, Bertrando losing out to Arcangues, Skip Away gunned down in that wild 5 way finish with Swain and Awesome Again, Premium Tap 3rd behind Invansor. Good trial.
Interesting one tomorrow...Havre De Grace. With her sex allowance she could have a massive say on classic day. She sees out 10 furlongs very well. Unfortunately for her, Blind Luck, sees it out even better. Maybe they're going this route because they're fed up with Blind Luck.
