I have to say I'm torn about this horse tomorrow. A 3 time group 1 winner who was narrowly beaten in the race a year ago and won over c & d last time albeit in a group 2. He's ran a few stinkers this season and the Lockinge run was clearly a mistake but he ran a shocker in the Eclipse 2 years ago before bouncing back. The fact that Midday runs and Queally's on her looks an obvious negative but why run Twice Over if they feel he's lost his way?

My perception up until now was that Sir Henry rated Twice Over ahead of Midday or how else can you explain Midday racing against her own sex in all but one run? Midday is a great filly but I don't believe she could finish 3rd in a BC Classic and if Twice Over runs to his best then surely he has a massive chance.

massive chance....top on official ratings, clas is class franked his latest run in decisive fashion at haydock.
this years international is not a vintage renewel so a small wager on tw over is my play.

ribotman, You're right about it not being a vintage renewal, I was there 4 years ago when my forum name won and that was a hot race! A Epsom Derby winner, A King George and future Arc winner(Dylan Thomas), a defending champ and Eclipse winner(Notnowcato) and future King George winner (Duke Of Marmalade). Await The Dawn could be anything though as he's never ran in a Group 1.

I have to say connections of Cirrus Des Aigles messed up in my opinion by skipping this in favour of hacking up in a Group 3 on Sunday. Apparently the trainer thought the Juddmonte was too strong a race.

It is not a strong Group 1, about average maybe .

Probably a better race than any Twice Over has won in the past though.

3rd fav is correct but i don't think he should be bigger than 3/1, and at 5/1 or so the best value in the field.

Authorized followed you over a cliff winning derby and internationaL.Cant understand arc run..maybe long season had caught up as so many arc flops have done.

I backed him at 66/1 for the Derby before he ever run, hence the forum name, and was in shock and euphoria when he won the RP Trophy as a maiden at 25-1. I stood on the rails jumping for joy when he hacked up in Dante and Derby Day was unforgettable with the Frankie hoodoo put to bed.

I was gutted though by his Arc run as it tainted a great career and cost him horse of the year honours. I believe there was some kind of bug in the yard and Chapple-Hyam has declined ever since. A streaky trainer, he was top drawer for a lot of the 90's then struggled and went abroad but after huge success on his return he's back to struggling again. A great character though and his celebration on Derby Day was brilliant.

The only times i backed him were for derby, eclipse, international and arc.
After the dante romp i couldn'believe 6/4 was feely available, and although its not a price i would usually entertain ante post,i waded in.

Twice Over proved he's still got it and it's some feat to have won the Eclipse, International and 2 Champions. I was really disappointed with Prince Khalid post-race though. I know he has a racing manager but after winning for the 1st time a race he's sponsored for over 20 years, he could've been more cooperative in interview. This kind of PR or lack of it doesn't help racing one bit.

I just read on another thread the theory that Prince Khalid hasn't forgiven C4 for the way they covered the Special Duty-Jacqueline Quest Guineas post-race. If this is true it explains his actions but if they were guilty of anything that day it was of jumping the gun and assuming a result would stand and it seems harsh to snub them for that.

I've always thought he struggles to understand English so is always very limited in what he can say in interview.
Report tobermory August 17, 2011 5:48 PM BST
Thats what i thought, would be suprised if he was aware of the kind of clowning that goes on on C4 Racing, hard to envisage him sitting down to watch Thommo and the picture puzzle

Perhaps he was worried McCrirrick might kneel before him again?
