My fav flat horse of all time, now sired the present Champ Hurdle,Derby and Gold Cup winners, can't think of this kind of unique treble winner in the same season ?
His dad SW had the Gold Cup winner and Champion Hurdle Winner in 00 thats the nearest I can think of, Sinndar won the Derby that year and Sadlers didnt have his first Epsom Derby winner till 01

Gotta agree - my biggest ever bet his King George: I went absolutely boll ox deep at 4/9 and never had a doubt... under par the rest of that year but nwhat a star he was and IS as a sire

He was my favourite flat horse ever too. I was truly devastated when he was 4th in the Arc in 2000. I had my biggest bet ever when he drifted to about evens. I've never forgiven Mick Kinane for that ride!
By the way, I'm a post-grad psychology student carrying out a research project into the superstitious beliefs of gamblers. I'm obviously a gambler myself, so it's nothing negative! The results will be used for my dissertation project. If you're interested, copy and paste the link below into your browser. Cheers.

The way he quickened through the smallest of gaps in the King George is a memory i will take to the grave.Without a penny on i was ecstatic,it was poetry in motion. In recent years only Sea The Stars has brought me happiness without profit.

He really was magic. Nice to find some fellow Montjeu fans. The Irish Derby '99 was awesome. Last to first and I got about 3 -1. The Arc '99 was special though. Finally got a clear run and cut down El Condor Pasa when it looked impossible.

Irish Derby - for some reason needed pushing about 4 or 5 out - then came back on the bridle King George - magical - reminiscent of Nijinksy's win in the race
Champion at 3 - came back and did it at 4 - can't ask for more than that

i honestly had doubts about him over 12 furlongs, though he won loads at that trip i still think 10 fur was his best, and i remember before the arc 4th, that sinndar might take the sting out of him, still think his 2nd next time out was one hell of a performance considering everything. the king george was magnificent and wasnt fantastic light in that race made to look like a seller. 2nd for me all time after dancing brave
