Quite clear Coolmore have the 12f division more or less sewn up....St Nick, Pour Moi etc etc

Reckon they'll go for the QEII with SYT for a showdown with Frankel, Goldikova and Canford. That race should also get him tuned up speed wise  for a tilt at the BC Classic.

Keep saying...the older dirt horses are CR*P and O'Brien has a line on the 3year olds with Master of Hounds.

Well the Arc was never the main aim. Coolmore will run as many as they want especially if they have 2 good enough to win the Arc. Only one win in the best race in Europe is not a good return i think personally. Pour Moi will be kept in training in my honest opinion ala Hurricane Run and Fabre will keep him in training as for me he is the boss. The question now is finalised....Jan Vermeer will be the sacraficial lamb on the Montjeu altar. Recital will also be kept in training. Oh how i love to have these headahces[;)]

Pour Moi's performance and the announcement that he will not contest any more races this summer might make owners and trainers of the best middle distance horses rethink their plans. Could make races like the King George and York International a lot more competitive than they might otherwise have been.

Have they actually said that So You Think won't run in the KG? He looks a mile and a half horse to me and it could be that they will go there mob-handed as, after all, St Nic has won the ideal warm-up race and Await the Dawn is Hardwicke-bound too. Or does everyone think they want to stay at a mile and a quarter before dropping back to a mile with So You Think?

Apparently the OP is the only person who is privy to this information because the betting market and lack of news articles dose not support these claims.

The OP isn't saying he has any inside info - he's just looking at the big picture.

I agree with him that the Arc is unlikely to be on So You Think's agenda. I would think the main aim for Coolmore is the Breeders Cup Claasic and then maybe a crack at the Hong Kong Cup in December and perhaps next years Dubai World Cup as a swansong.

I'm still to be convinced that he is as good as some people are saying and if he wins the Prince Of Wales next week (dosen't look like being too much oppossition) then the Juddmonte International and/or Irish Champion would be the logical next step. Depending on how he gets on in those maybe he'll drop back to 1m for the QEII - Falbrav did it successfully.

I was the one that first posted the link in the forum about the possibility of BC, even though i initially doubted this would occur, but the owner today said he wants to challenge the horse in the best races, which in retrospect BTW was why he insisted on a Melbourne Cup start which failed in the regard of winning it anyway.

IMO I still think all options are open at this stage before the POW.

Here's what he said today, http://www.smh.com.au/sport/horseracing/so-you-think-must-make-world-sit-up-...

I'd say they'll want to accentuate his speed, so I think he'll be campaigned at 1m2f, especially with StNick looking so good at 1m4f, and them having Pour Moi for the Arc as well.

The International, Champion Stakes/QE2 and the BC Classic look the most likely targets to me. I know he has a turf pedigree, and a daisy cutting action, but he is just such a strong bull of a horse, it leaves one thinking he'd probably handle dirt.

Is the Breeders Cup on dirt or equitrack / pro-ride this year?

Ravens Pass and Henrythenavigator showed how much better the Europenas are if it's on an artificial surface.
Report mightymoyes June 7, 2011 7:36 PM BST
dirt i believe.

Do you think they are planning to back him up in the Eclipse after the Prince of Wales's? Or will they let Workforce have that one? Bar Rip Van Winkle, they have sent over one of their lesser lights for this in recent years (even though Mount Nelson still managed to win!). Maybe Jan Vermeer, as he ran at Sandown first time up..
Report jair1970 June 8, 2011 9:29 AM BST
Dylan Thomas and Duke of Marmalade both went Prince of Wales / King George but they've suggested St Nicholas Abbey will go for the King George.
With such a wealth of middle distance talent it's a mystery.

Sorry was just specualating with regards to the events at Epsom.

I hadnt considered the Dubai World Cup unclepuncle.

Always thought they'd retire him at the end of this year but...interesting.

Wonder which of the derby also rans they'll sell off. Usually cut a few loose dont they...recital and seville must be odds on to end up in qatar imo.
Report cryoftruth June 8, 2011 5:50 PM BST
Its Korea or Belgium for Recital
(old and bad joke I know)
Report mightymoyes June 8, 2011 6:10 PM BST
