Noble Mission - already working with 3 year olds and reported to be due to run at the end of next month. A mini Frankel apparently and another horse for TAPK to write off and for me to obsess over!

Well he looks the part from what ive seen , but not seen him work.

I have been trying to get a price for next year's 2000 Guineas.

So far:

Magicswine - no odds
OK Koral - no odds
Murdochbet- no odds
Paddies - no odds
Tote 20/1
Stoke365 20/1
Hillz 50/1

I know a full brother to Frankel will have the interest of a few mugs like me but 20/1 - really!

Surely they can do a bit better than that.
Report sintonian May 29, 2011 1:55 PM BST
Funnily enough, i'd be more interested in him for the Derby!Laugh
Report cryoftruth May 29, 2011 2:33 PM BST
very bl00dy funny sint!

I just split a £30 bet at 50/1 for the Guineas with a "friend" and that's what he said.

After what i just went through with well meaning and polite but very ignorant call centre staff to get a price for the Guineas, I'll let you do the donkey work on finding the best price for the Derby.

a price for the double would be cool while you are at it!

I have to say backing horses that have never run for the 2000 Guineas because they are a brother to another good horse is just stupid and romantic drivel. 50/1 with Hillz is not a good price imo. I would think 100/1 would be nearer the real sort of price for some sort of fun bet.

so what have you seen?
Report RUSSJR May 29, 2011 5:51 PM BST
Well ive seen him in the flesh a couple of times at warren place, very similiar type to Frankel but too early to say how good he will be. I would be surprised if hes already working with older horses though at this stage.

Another to note would be Morphius

Thats what it said in Racing Post Russ. We could look back on this thread one day and think 50-1 - wow!!! Go for it COT - I'm a romantic too!
Report cryoftruth May 31, 2011 6:54 AM BST
£30 is an expensive bit of folly IMO.

However I cannot get over the meanness of the bookies only offering 20/1 - an amazing price! Vadamar, a horse with proven class and a certain runner is still 20/1 for the Derby.

You usually get 33/1 about a decent well bred maiden winner for the 2000 Guineas. So far we don't know that Noble Mission will be fast enough to get warm. He might be useless!

Anyone know what Coolmore chose ahead of Noble Mission in the annual Galileo draft pick?
Report RUSSJR May 31, 2011 1:43 PM BST
I very much doubt that Kind's offspring is part of the ten mare draft, as i would assume Coolmore would have picked Noble Mission as he is a full brother to Frankel.
Report cryoftruth May 31, 2011 9:21 PM BST
just had an e-mail from the magicswine saying they would give me 25/1 for a maximum of £250.

I don't suppose they get rich off ante post betting really, so maybe you can't blame them for being mean. But honestly I am not sure Id back this horse at 25 to even run in the Guineas let alone win it.
Report RUSSJR June 1, 2011 1:29 PM BST
Agree but what price if he wins a newmarket maiden first time up, i doubt there will be much of the 25s about then.
Report cryoftruth June 1, 2011 6:53 PM BST
yes the value of backing a horse like this tends to get worse as soon as they show a bit of ability.

World Domination was a classic example. He was terrible value before he ran and it got worse until suddenly it dawned on people he wasn't that good at least yet.

Stupid thing this was after World Domination's very best run yet!

I must say the thought of frankel's brother coming out in  a few weeks is very exciting. I wonder if he's be as keen or if he'll be more relaxed? More important - I wonder if he'll be as good!

well to be so the dam would have to be something of a freak. So far she has foaled Bullet Train and Frankel. I know BT has tailed off badly but he was a decent animal. I am on a train with terrible connection but who are the best examples of super full siblings anyone?
Report A_T June 1, 2011 7:53 PM BST
Granville Again and Morley Street

Full sibs is tricky, but the dame dam had had loads of winners - look at the record of Urban Sea or even Ravinella.

Last full sibs I can remember were Grundy and Centurius, but then I am old.

Think Nijinky's brother Minsky was champion 2 year old in Ireland.

It was mentioned earlier that Morphius (Midday's full sister) was well regarded , heard this also. Been told Cecil has a very smart colt called Touch Gold.
Report Somerset_Moan June 24, 2011 12:14 AM BST
Is this the same horse??

yes - Noble Mission
Report Cream Of The Crop June 24, 2011 8:35 PM BST
Isn't Midday's 2yo sister called Popular? And isn't Dr Yes (Light Shift's first foal) supposedly pretty nice too?
Report Lance in France June 24, 2011 9:51 PM BST
My favourite repeat breeding is Hector Protector being a full brother to Bosra Sham. That one worked out quite well!
Report caward June 25, 2011 10:57 AM BST
Popular (was called Morphius) & Dr Yes amongst the best in the yard.
