what has this beast beaten? 9/4 looks a shocking price to me for the Temple.

Must be some value in opposing this.

connections think he just has to turn up to win the kings stand at royal ascot so facing this lot on saturday will be a walk in the park if you believe the hype, hard to gage the for as its in his homeland and in italy but watching those races on youtube he certainly looks a beast and lets face it,he wont have to be a superstar to beat whats in front of him on saturday (bunch of handicapers plus kingsgate native)its fair to say he would have won the 2007 Prix de l'Abbaye as when they replayed the void race against the proper running he passed the winning post before Marchand D'and there were other decent horse in that race also so thats one piece of rock solid form that you can trust,i'm thinking the other way and that 5/2 is a huge price and will look silly after he bolts up,i have not had a bet yet but people that i know that have the inside access to the horse say that he is the real deal and that he @fact,will win' on saturday

Think he and Dubawi Gold are two favourites that are really worth taking on at the weekend. Haven't found what with just yet though. Mischief

agree about dubawi gold, looks far too short.

Dubawi Gold is a joke price based on a flattering run in a race where he ran on past beaten horses. Not saying he can't win, but offers no value whatsoever at the prices.

Overdose, has at least been putting in track record times and we've seen what he did in the voided Abbaye a while back, he's no mug, but agree he doesn't look a good price either

I personally think the price should be evens at best - 5-2 will look very very big by 3.05pm on Saturday

I think Overdose is much better on soft ground. This would be my biggest concern for Haydock on Saturday - looks like it'll be on the quick side of good.

what price do you want for a horse thats 15 from 16 and won in 6 different countries,on all types of going from 5 to 7f,winning the golden peische a gp2 in germany comfortably.?

Not sure how the words 'hype' and 'overdose' can appear in the same sentence.  The horse is a legend and whether you're laying or backing, 'hype' doesn't come into it imo.

In answer to your first question, wospo - the answer is 'the clock'.

That would be why Haydock is reporting good (good to firm in places) and no rain around for remainder of week - do your research.

I am not sure how hype comes into it after his performance in the Abbay either. He is obviously very fast indeed. I am looking forward to seeing him run very much.

It's great he's finally racing in England but any doubts about him are understandable. Plastic shoes for his questionable feet, may encounter "firm" in the description for the first time ever and who's to say he won't play up again like he did when he was defeated in the Goldene Peitsche?

A lot of water's passed under the bridge since that Abbaye run.

plenty of 9/4 left for the army of believers. Beaten platers imo

Not entirely sure what to make of it tbh. Overdose has had his problems last couple of years but he clearly has ability. However in this race we have actual group 1 winners in behind as opposed a horse who has won a lot of weak races in his time, admittedly looking impressive enough.

I wouldn't be rushing to take his price at the moment, but I certainly can't be a layer. A no bet race if ever I saw one

Make no mistake about how fast he has been in the past. He's done sectionals that would take Frankel out of his comfort zone. If his feet hold out he'll win with a minimum off fuss because it simply isn't that good a race. 9/4 looks an excellent price to me but the time off he had does worry me.

fair enoughFFT,it's easy to get carried away with form from 2years ago.

And i must admit i've a Soft spot for the beast, having followed him till we were robbed in prix l'abbey.

I do think his price for sat factors in the possibility he's deteriorated since, his dodgy feet and fast going poss not suiting?

As you say you wouldn't lay at 9/4,however i'm prepared to take the plunge as you'll never get decent odds again except in gp 1s.

Its not very often you see  a horse with quite so many 1's after his name. Form of 11111111/111111-1111 etc etc does suggest he has some ability.

I am with FFT and would not be a player in the race myself. Sentimentally thoiugh I hope he absolutely p1sses all over them!

Overdose is way better than the opposition he'll face on saturday. If he's in peak form 9/4
would be a great price- theres no better bet than a front runner who is a class above the opposition. Like most races though its not straight forward on 2 fronts 1. the ground - his
winning has been on soft or heavily watered good ground + hes had feet problem 2. Will he
be at his peak__- he looked in great shape in germany last time. For me then its a question of whether he'll let himself down fully on the ground if its on the fast side.

I don't know why people are worrying about fast ground at Haydock, Tellwrong will water if it is not soft enough anyway.

They've moved the race to the inside track where its good to firm . I think its the first time they've run the
race on the inner track. I backed Overdose at 9/4 thinking they'd be running on the outer track where theres
plenty of cut. Theres some dodgy vibes coming from connections as well; beginning to think I've done my money,
feel like a mug with it drifting to 3/1.

It would appear the people banging on about 9/4 being a big price have gone a bit quiet. This overrated headcase will be exposed as moderate this afternoon.

He ran well given he doesn't like fast ground. On genuine soft ground he could still win a group 1.
