Ae this moment this horse is being quoted by the bookmaker at odds between 4-1 and 5-1, at these prices he must be the lay of all time. How can these prices be justified, what has the horse done? What has he beat, in short, nothing.Anyone taking these prices at the moment must be a little bit simple. Anyone else have any views?

i think it was a very good maiden and cecil has another good one in behind the winners. i think because this horse has long been talked about hes probably poor value for the race, however i do think hes promising and potentially very good and i wouldnt lay him. thats just me tho...

any more thoughts on this, maybe eric or mayweather might like to comment?

4/1 is short but his price is based more on reputation and his win at Newbury was impressive. The yard as always rated him highlyand hoped to run him last year but had a few niggles and could'nt get him out but anyhow next week will tell us more and if he wins the 4/1 might seem a bit big.
Report essexguy • May 4, 2011 4:07 PM BST
caward, he might be that price for the dante next week.

5/2 with Lads

Whilst in principle I agree with you essexguy. This has long been his target and he has always been Cecil's No1 in that respect. As per my previous post pre-2k guineas Frankel was never going to run in Derby. If he does win Dante well he will be very short indeed and 5-1 will look tasty as I cant see what else could win Derby at this stage.
Report alileo • May 5, 2011 9:13 PM BST
How short do you think he will go thegreatdago? There have been some really smart winners in the last two decades and yet only Authorized has gone off shorter than 11/4.
Report Mooono • May 5, 2011 9:44 PM BST
If he wins hard on the sniffle snaffle by 5+ lengths...2/1 easyyyyyy beacuase of his tall rep and superb display in the Dante..Us horse racing fans are in a for a real treat this summer with So You Think, Frankel, World Domination & Golidkova all getting jiggy on these shores...

Essexguy - you want a comment from you? Here you are muppet boy!

Firstly, World Domination looks a decent prospect, he didn't beat much on his debut but he done everything he could of done on his racecourse debut. He drifted badly in the market, he wasn't really expected to win but connections did say he would improve for the run. I backed him and 20/1 and 16/1, I will be laying my stake off only for the Derby.

I like Carlton House the most, if he doesn't show anything then the Derby must be poor this year. I have studied all of the other horses (Native Khan, Casamento - they messed him up by running him in the Guineas, bad move), Treasure Beach, Recital, Seville - decent) but none of these horses are further top Grade 1 horses. Carlton House is the one that could be, he hammered the horse who finished 2nd to Native Khan in the Craven at Newmarket.

One thing is for sure muppet boy, you have picked some bad eggs for the Derby (Recital, Dunboyne Express, Master Of Hounds (won't run), and Carlton House (copied me - horse has top potential).

I long since missed the boat with this one and agree he is far too short for a maiden winner. Interesting though that his chief rival in the betting is also only a maiden winner (albeit an impressive one) yet not many people seem to comment on that.

Three things interest me re World Domination. Firstly Kieron Fallon mentions him almost weekly in his Weekender column and is a huge fan, as he was with Frankel. He doesnt mention Carlton House. I don't think people in and around Newmarket are the least bit surprised he is so short in the betting.

Secondly Henry Cecil has chosen the Dante. This is significant I think. Over the years he has tended to use this race only with very serious horses. Twice Over was his last runner I think and he was favorite for the Derby at the time. In between times the likes of Father Time and Bullet Train went to Lingfield. I was pretty sure that was where this one was heading after Newbury and HC told us as much, so the change of plan is interesting. He knows he will be taking on the likes of Seville, CH and Genius Beast and has shunned what would would have been a far easier race this weekend.

Finally, would the stable have been quite so quick to commit the Wonderhorse to R. Ascot if they didnt have this one waiting in the wings?

If we are talking purely value for money then I wouldnt go there but, at the same time, I would not be dismissing his chances.

Not sure if they would have run Frankel in the Dante even if WD wasn't there. Comes pretty soon after the Guineas.

I'll be very surprised if WD turns out to be a Derby horse it's along way from the maiden he won to Epsom.

Don't have long to wait to find out but that race at Newbury looked a very ordinary event to me.

These maidens can be very misleading. The second that day Solar Sky also trained by Cecil would have been one helluva impressive looking winner and no doubt he'd be getting touted as a Derby horse if WD didn't exist.

Henry is very much in the news. He's a great trainer and Frankel has put him right back at the top. When you are up there everything you train is a superstar and if WD wasn't trained by him then he would probably be twice his current odds on form.

That's not to say he's not the real deal but persionally I wouldn't back him in this class until he's proved he can even go the gallop in a Group race let alone win one.

It's purely visual with him and I wasn't overly impressed. Note: Old head was cocked to the right a bit which isn't what I would want to see in a Epsom Derby fav.

Rondetto - where were you when Frankel went to the front. My pockets are fully boy!

On you go my beauty!

My speed figure for World Domination, if literally translated to the Ballysax, would have earned him 2nd place, and a close 4th in the Derrinstown. Given the expected improvement, I would expect him to be there or thereabouts in the Dante, but perhaps coming second to the more streetwise Seville. Come Epsom, though, he may be ready to win. Workforce and Cape Blanco come to mind.
Report A_T • May 10, 2011 9:25 PM BST
Dante might be a trip short of his best - IMO World Domination is and out-and-out 12f horse
Report mythical prince • May 10, 2011 10:21 PM BST
will win the dante on the snaff.
Report thegreatdago • May 11, 2011 4:25 PM BST
could be 2/1 or shorter if impressive tomoorrow
Report Sacred Kingdom • May 11, 2011 5:10 PM BST
Midday and World Domination. Both to win on the bridle.
Report cryoftruth • May 11, 2011 5:23 PM BST
The trouble with World Domination is that any horse with just a maiden win behind him must be bad value to wiin an Epsom Derby at less than 20/1. However if he dopes sluice up tomorrow, you won't be getting 4/1 any mopre and he will have some almost solid form in the book.

World Domination was bad value even before he ran, and he has got worse and is very bad value now.

The Dante is the race that everyone seems certain will be the main Derby form on offer. I am unconvinced - 2 maiden winners against an embyonic Ascot Gold cup and St Leger contender from APOB's yard.

By process of elimination I am siding with Pour Moi at present, and will be seriously scouring the entries for possible outsiders.

of course just because World Domination is the biggest hype horse ever does not mean he isn't going to hack up in the Dante, end up near evens for the Derby and hack up that race too.

All the same looking at the overall quality of the Derby field I would say that Frankel would have been an easy odds on winner if he turned up!
Report 8BallPlayer • May 11, 2011 6:36 PM BST
I get the feeling that Stoute will have Carlton House ready to win tomorrow whereas WD and Seville will not be fully wound up for the race. Just my opinion..
Report eric_morris • May 12, 2011 8:27 AM BST
Unknown with this horse is he was the foil that connections needed to avoid having to run Frankel in the Derby. Only today will we see whether this has been a factor in him running in this race. He may be good but that doubt re his promotion by connections remains until we see him beat a decent horse.
Report jair1970 • May 12, 2011 12:34 PM BST
Foil?

Nonsense.  One looks like a miler, one looks like a 12f horse. Whether WD is good enough has nothing to do with Frankel.
Report geoff m • May 12, 2011 2:24 PM BST
he does live in cuckoo land.
Irrespective if he blows out today Frankel will not be in the Derby.
Altho the way Henry spoke to Mike Catt looks like hes WD to put in a crack performance.
Report cryoftruth • May 12, 2011 2:44 PM BST
was that a crack performance or a cackperformance?

Either way that's the end of that bit of hype I would say.
Report cryoftruth • May 12, 2011 2:53 PM BST
A hugely improved performance for World Domination today.

Rather puts the Derby price into perspective I would say.
Report eric_morris • May 12, 2011 2:56 PM BST
Yep I was right.

If you can dismiss a horse based on a performance in a race run 6 seconds slower than standard, can I be your bookmaker please? I dare say the Lingfield Derby Trial was more informative. Without doubt the most comical Derby Trial I've seen since I've been gambling.

Yep another Abdulla hoss with your Ks as a penalty not making the gig Eric.
2 Punts out of the Cecil table & not hit the board
Keep chucking them darts Eric @ least in Carlton you might manage a runner.
Report sintonian • May 16, 2011 4:18 PM BST
World Domination is 55's now. Eric must be delighted with the 20's he somehow snaffled post maiden win. What a bell end! Laugh
Report geoff m • May 16, 2011 4:34 PM BST
pity he didnt trade out Sint.
With Frankel & World Dom (2 non runners) he could have made a killing.
Report johnnyrant • May 16, 2011 5:13 PM BST
I figured WD would disappoint in Dante, which reiterates why Frankel should be going to Epsom.

Picture Editor in the Cocked Hat?

Is he trying to get Khalid Abdulla a Derby horse?
