Is it just me or does this look like a truly dreadful guineas?

the french filly could well be a worthy favourite, but the only time she ran in a seriously competitive race she never really figured
and was put in its place by wootton basset. slightly off putting, but perhaps more off putting is the amount of speed she has been showing
and whether she'll get a mile. nevertheless, french fillies have a tremendous record in the race in recent years. and she comes from a family that has had great sucess over a mile. she has to be respected. but then you go further down the list and huge gaps appear in the other main contenders.

havant? looks like an oaks filly and the fast ground must be a huge worry. misty for me and laughing lashes just kept beating each other. misty me for battled on well last time against hellenborine, but on sunday she'll have a whole pack of horses stacking up on her and will she be able to outbattle them all on fast ground? somehow I doubt it.

memory and hooray look like sprinters. in any case at the current prices memory offers no value whatsoever. the hills filly make a dance showed a very high knee action in her maiden win, so is another who needs to get her toe in.

so this leads me to I love me, who will bounce off the fast ground. most importantly of all, shes a huge filly and unlike misty for me, looks like she might train on very well from 2 to three. she's also been tipped up by speed guru figgis [;)]

this dire 1000 guineas is ripe for an upset Cool

To answer your opening question, at this this point i suspect it might be you. I think there are some handy types in there. To be a very good renewal you would be wanting the top three to be around 112-120 in the ratings at their highest points this season. Some previous renewals have had placed horses who haven't went on to run high marks. I suspect Sunday could prove to be on the best renewals of this race.

Well I can't agree at all that this is a bad Guineas. Looks by far the best 1000 to me for donkeys years, definitely the best since Russian Rhythm, Six Perfections, Intercontinental, Yesterday, Soviet Song and Casual Look.

And yes, totally agree about I Love Me, I'm on at 40s and was slightly concerned about Andrew Balding's form but he's had 2 winners this week. She'll devour the ground and I'm not sure what'll be picking up on it. Moonlight Cloud's a big danger, although the mile does come with a big question mark attached to her and Memory's also a big danger. I wouldn't rule out Cape Dollar either. I'd love to see a match bet between her and Havant as I'd be all over CD. Havant's an early-May foal by a not-very-good stallion. Spells disaster.

why we all think that gns are poor renewals these days is imo that the best horses dont go for the trials, say midnight cloud as she did win the imp, memory won the nell gwyn, and havant the fred darling, wed be all saying this is best gns for years, also i reckon that last years gns was the worst ever, and i agree this could turn out to be a good renewal

I think it is just you Mythical.

Looks rather promising to me.

Its a race to leave alone imo, any amount of form that could be interpreted as the best in the race, lots of unexposed animals, question marks about stamina, ground and big field suitability and for me its a race to watch
