I notice in your posts you mention the 1000gns forfeit stage as being yesterday-i.e.--tues 19 april.
if this is true would my 50/1 on pontenuovo, laid by korals this morning 20 april around 10 o clock be after entries were known to corals and they laid bet knowing the filly was a non runner please?
Sid james, i noticed were not quoting pontnuovo before i placed my korals bet.
looks to me korals offered stand out 50/1 as they knew she would be scratched [or had already been scratched before i placed my bet.
thanks in advance ribot.

As the forfeit stage occurred at 12 noon on Tuesday 19 April and you placed a bet on Pontenuovo the following day, i.e. after the filly had already been withdrawn from the race, it seems to me that you have a strong case for insisting that your bookie voids the bet.  However, there was an embargo on the names of the horses that were taken out (and those that were left in) until 12 noon yesterday, so your bookie didn't know until then that Pontenuovo had been taken out.  Also, Korals may argue that the bet still stands because the horse could yet be supplemented back into the race (which is exceedingly unlikely of course, but technically possible).  Unfortunately I suspect that you have lost your money but it's well worth arguing the point with Korals.  If at first they don't refund your stake, I suggest that you write to their Managing Director and if they still refuse to cough up, write a short letter for publication in the Racing Post, complain to Trading Standards etc.  I'll be interested to hear the outcome.  Good luck.

James it has been fascinating reading your insights over the last few years and great that you spent time sharing your thoughts with other punters. Hopefully the debacle that has become your 1000Gs thread wont put you off. This place used to be a wonderful source of informed opinion, debate and tipping but seems to have been lost in sea of pointless squabbling and point scoring. The world is a pretty insane place these days and looks like this forum is followinging a similar path. Atavus was right all along....

thanks for your advice James.your thread is still most interesting despite the infiltration of some irritating bores.

I knew it was possible that they would argue it could be supplemented.and i will now contact them, now iknow the date of actual withdrawal

as you say i expect i've done my money,if they can claim they didn't know the decs till after my bet.

Whatever it's fishy to me that they and other bookies can quote odds when some people [i.e.the french officials concerned with processing the forfeits],and others knew one day before i placed the bet.

sid james knew as pontenuovo wasn.t in their book when i placed my bet with corals.

thanks again i'll post the results of my contact with korals.

Pester them until you get your money back. If they don't refund then take your money elsewhere.

Thankyou for your support graeme and james.

on looking at my account the bet was placed at 12:17 yesterday so it was after the forfeits were known?

anyway i rang korals and they've voided the bet so good on them.

thankyou again for your support.

one thing puzzles me though, this not making forfeits public till 24hours later,iv'e never come across that before.ribot
