Do you think some of these Irish horses they are buying from trainers such as Prendergast are being trained hard as 2 yo's to get results with a view to selling them on at vast profits to Sheikh Mo.
At 3 yo that hard 2 yo season may be taking it's toll no? |
|
By:
They truly are masters of their art in making horses disappear. Unbelievable how year on year they manage to do this.

poor showing, Dubai Prince's loss is a disaster, should they not just run Casemento in this instead of the Dante, might be tokenism, but how can they be a legitimate powerhouse without a Guineas horse, you'd never see it at Coolmore, as we see with the Derby.

DUBAI!! THERES YOUR PROBLEM!
ruining horses they are. its ridiculous the carry on from them. |
|
By:
Maybe they will give French Navy a go at this.
He was hammered by Roderick O'Connor at the end of last season when he pulled like mad and maybe did not enjoy the heavy ground. Before that he looked really decent. |
|
By:
^^^^^^^^^^^good shout, they should have something in it, hoping for a big enough field and proper pace, Sheikh Mo props up the industry, why can't he prop up the Guineas, this is harsh and I don't like saying it as I'm not a Godolphin basher ordinarily, but their inability to get horses to the track given what they had to play with this season is an embarassing.

embarassment rather

is Saamidd a non-runner then ?
|
|
By:
If Dubai Prince and Casamento were still trained in Ireland, how much more likely is it that they would be running here? Very disappointing that the race has been robbed of two of last year's leading 2yos.
Also I must have missed the Saammid story, has he been confirmed a non-runner? |
|
By:
i would imagine saamidd will be their horse. i hope he is. v interesting runner.

I don`t think his highness drinks alcohol.
Not that much anyway! ![]() |

I just wet my pants. Pocket talking without hope of the highest order possible on planet earth. Frankel is just a hyped horse but Saamidd is a v interesting runner ... ffs there is no hope for the human race.

In fairness eric Saamidd ran a better debut RPR than Frankel and his second RPR was within 1lb of Frankels second RPR. With one disappointing run on his third start (Over 30lbs below his best run) I'm surprised you don't thimk he is at least an interesting runner. Ok you have a v good horse on side in Frankel but surely it would be folly to rule out any relatively unexposed horse?

guineas not guinness sorry,
|
|
By:
alileo hes backed every horse, do u not know eric by now?
|
|
By:
Seem to remember him saying last year that he didn't back Makfi in the 2,000 Guineas. Thought it was odd that someone who likes to have all bases covered didn't include an unbeaten horse irrespective of his level of form.

guineas not guinness sorry After Dubai Prince yesterday, I think 2000 Guinness sounds a whole lot better! ![]() |
|
By:
mmm thats the irony, he lies about backing pretty much every horse in the field at inflated prices but normally forgets to put the winner up at some stage
![]() its not that any of us care who he backed or didnt back, we know hes a waffler but if u dont agree with him u gat called 'clueless' or a 'mug' etc etc... kinda gets annoying. its ruining the threads and stops people fom actually talking about the horses and the races. |

By:
forfeit stage today, market probably suspended on here till thursday, and yet all 94 runners will be back up then
|
|
By:
Technically until they can't be put back in they can't be ruled out EJ.
|
|
By:
so alileo, a horse can be taken out today, and then re entered ?
|
|
By:
markets re-open tomorrow afternoon.
|
|
By:
Pretty sure he could be supplemented at the five day stage although it would be a lunatic thing to do obviously.

"should they not just run Casemento in this instead of the Dante,"
I doubt it. I don't think they will have a guineas runner. I can't them them seeing Casamento as a Derby prospect to then put him in the guineas. If they haven't made a decision on Saamid then i'll doubt they would throw him in. His price goes back up as soon as it goes down which indicates he won't run anyway. They know they have no guineas runner. They should just say it. |
|
By:
they'll probably buy Pathfork the night before for £10m and watch it trail home last.
:o |

alileo ... I didnt have Makfi correct as posted on here. It was my worst 2000 Guineas result antepost though I did have Special Duty the 1000 which retrieved 2/3 of what I'd lost on the 2000. Didnt have time that year to devote to a good 2000 book and paid the price.
ilikewavingatbuses I have asked you to take up my offer re bets you are falsely accusing me of lying about but you wont. You can donate my stakes on those bets to charity after I proof them to Betfair. If you dont take me up on that and continue with your defammation of character I will seek legal advice re suing you. This is now possible on the forum the damages you may have to pay would likely be more than my stakes I would imagine. The forum keeps a perfect record of all the times you do this for reference. |

Saeed Bin Surour's search for a Derby contender takes him to Epsom on Wednesday where he saddles Borug over the horse-shoe course.
Bin Surour last won the blue riband event of the English flat season 16 years ago with Lammtarra. Last year Al Zir finished sixth behind Workforce while co-Godolphin trainer Mahmoud Al Zarouni's Rewilding took third. Borug is a son of Kingmambo and half-brother to Godolphin's Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Marienbard. He won two of six starts last season in the UK. When based at Godolphin's Al Quoz stable in Dubai, Borug's two starts included a creditable third to Reem in the Al Bastakiya. Bin Surour, who also holds a second entry for the Derby with his Champagne Stakes winner Saamidd, is hoping Borug can handle the Epsom course and distance, which is a furlong short of the mile-and-a-half trip the colts will run on June 4. Al Zarouni, who holds Derby entries with Casamento, saddles Genius Beast |
