if he stands up he,ll win

if he stands up?
he's never fallen. |

could be sort of race hat gets him interested, missed all the big prices but all that means is to put a bit more on at lower prices, as a mate of mine said, its not the price its how much you have on thats important..

They didnt deliberately get him beat,he couldnt live with them on that ground, the trainer quoted after the race,"if it had rained,he may have been 4th,hes a much sharper horse on rain softened ground".
So that could be the key to him, taking in the trainers remarks, although it has to be said the ground shouldnt ride as quick as Cheltenham, and he was finishing like a bullet in the gold gold cup,so maybe over the National trip, the going may not be that important. Certainly value at the current 48 quote on Betfair,as i would imagine him to be morea 20/1 or 25/1 shot. The only thing thats puts you off is the weight, but he is still well in on official marks compared to a lot of the others. Dams sire was the top class flat stayer Le Moss,so dont see stamina being a problem, and Suny Bay was 2nd on atrocious ground in 1998 with 12 st. So hes a better chance than most, and at more than 3 times the price of The midnight club(worst favourite i can remember)and Backstage,2 horses which in no way or form fit the race trend requirements of a possible National winner, one can only think hes that price on some dodgy reputation(which came from god knows where)and the weight. |

How the hell this animal won an Arkle but now looks like he needs 4 miles just adds to the mystery of this horse. I love him but 5 or 6 serious errors and he will be pulled up.

By:
Why do you think The Midnight Club is "the worst favourite I can remember" ?
Also you seem a trifle puzzled why Tidal Bay has "a dodgy reputation". Have you never seen him run ? |
|
By:
just a question as im not sure it has been confirmed anywhtere
if frankie figg gets in will he be riding tidal or frankie i know it might seem obvious based on class but assuming they were to both get around (more on frankie staying on his feet) frankie has proved he loves the place. any views |

By:
Glenn, a wee bit of mumbo jumbo there i think
![]() I´d say B hughes rides tidal and wilson renwick on frankie |
|
By:
fair enough, just an opinion
i justdont see hughes's choice simple |
|
By:
Finishing like train in the gold cup is simple enough i think, and the trainer has stated"Tidal bay always runs his best races in races he hasnt run in before,it may be just what he needs"
So i dare say they sort of think,if he puts it all in and is close enough, hes got every chance. And they said the going was against him at Cheltenham. Tidal bay,won an arkle by 13 lengths and 6th in the gold cup, finishing fast,at 48,or The Midnight club,2 chase wins, all wins on soft heavy, and a 3rd in a grade 1 against 2 horses pulled up in the gold cup at 10.5. Guess which ones the value.[;)] |

finishing fast eh... hes good at that, unlucky maybe that he never gets up in the dying strides? might have won the arkle and been very good but i think he doesnt want to know anymore. if he had a length to make up from the elbow on any horse i dont think id back him at 2/1. reminds me of a horse choc rode the other day called american ladie. unpopular view but worth throwing out there

Maybe a nice little confidence booster over fences may have been the ticket. I would have found a little race for him just to get his head in front if possible. Maybe just doesnt like running with other horses and picks up when he knows that he is allowed to pass them. Unique characters like him often flatter. I would say that if he was close enough jumping the last he would more than likely flatten out, thats the way it goes with these types. Maybe worth a little punt for the excitement of following him.

By:
Not the worst record at the track tbf, whether he takes to the national fences is the great unknown.
|
|
By:
Thats what makes it so special, he´s def worth a tenner.
|
|
By:
Has to worth a bit each way if he takes to the fences he should be bang there coming to two out

Look Im a massive fan of the horse but this comment is way out:
'Any horse that has win at Cheltenham festival are 100% genuine' just because a horse was 100% genuine once doesnt mean he is now |
|
By:
Have a few quid on him at 150.0 from back in January, didn't think he'd actually run, wish i'd more on now
![]() Have no doubt he will stay, its just his style of running that doesn't really suit here, race tends to suit more prominent runners. Also he's a mentaller. |

...running on strongly finish!

I'll have a few quid e-w on him . He could refuse at the first or he might take to it and do a Last Suspect .

![]() Ive only backed him 5 times and he's won on two of them at 8s and 16s, got to have a few quid on |
