This has been at 180/190 on here recently, now down to 60, and there has also been money on the high street.
Still a massive price, but is this the start of interest from gallop reports from David Pipe.
Does anyone have any info ?

Cuthbert..  Small article in R Post today with trainer saying horse has very good French form and thinks it has a good chance in the race etc,etc
Report Regular Fries • March 29, 2011 3:57 PM BST
no info but noticed the gamble overnight.

Pipe had reported that 2m6f was thought to be his optimum trip winning finishing fourth behind Master Minded in his only run in this country. Has won over €1m in France.

Thanks for that, it could be an interesting one to watch in the run up to the race.

Can only see this article on him - an unknown and interesting entry.

Thanks for tracking down that article, it makes an interesting read.
They clearly think alot of him.

Clearly classy but no evidence he'd get the trip in a horsebox. And am I reading the form wrong or has he never carried a big weight?
Report Cuthbert • April 1, 2011 2:02 PM BST
I'm not sure he has run in many handicaps, so the weight carrying is a bit of an unknown.
With regards the trip, didn't they used to say two and a half milers were ideal for the national ?
Report Fabulous • April 1, 2011 2:39 PM BST
They still say that Cuthbert, about the 2 and a half milers, but it's not got much substance to it in recent years. Wouldn't let that put you off this one though, think they think of him as more than a 2 and a half miler anyway.

I've had a small interest at very attractive odds, it's one on those that if it wins I will kick myself for not having a decent wager though.
It's seems easier to lump on at 6/4, and shrug it off when it gets turned over.
If you lump on at 100/1 and it gets turned over you just feel an idiot.
Funny old game isn't it.

3 comments to end this thread.
(A)The horse has never won at 3 miles, all recent winners have.
(B)The Pipe stable NEVER talk up their horses in handicaps, because if they are fancied theyre normally having a punt(the jockeys been giving it loads on his blog,WONT WIN)
(C)The 2 1/2 mile theory was originally put up by a certain N Henderson,it has no substance whatsoever,as all recent winners have won over at least 3 miles.
End of thread, end of horses chances.[;)]

The two-and-a-half mile theory was explained by that ludicrous old buffer who used to write in the Handicap Book.

Two and a half miles is not a "proper racing distance", and nor is four and a half miles, and therefore two-and-a-half milers are ideal for the Grand National.

So now you know.
