Any advice on the better ones to frequent would be greatly received! Heading up for the opening day and had thought about going in the County Stand (or Platinum County Lounge). Should I be looking elsewhere?

Only ever been once and that was to the November meeting in about 2004 and I think there have been a number of changes since then.

Cheers

County Stand is ideal. I've been going the last twenty years and County is always my first choice.

Thanks - County Stand looks favourite. Anyone been in the Platinum County Lounge? This may begin to sound like an episode of Frasier!

It's just a carpeted room in the county Stand with more champagne on tap. Same view lol.

Always Tatts on Thursday for me. The stands are at the same capacity as Friday and Saturday (i.e. full), while the Tatts has all the facilities to cope with the Friday and Saturday yet half the crowd.

Agree Tatts on the Thursday, much better racing than the Friday and a more knowledgable crowd.

interesting point about stands capacity. County doesn't appear to be sold out for the Thursday whereas as it is on Friday/Saturday. I thought £21 was good value for a Tatts badge on Thursday.

Hi Mully,
I would like to draw on your knowledge of Aintree my mate has offered me a ticket in the Princess Royal Stand Seats area on the Thursday. Whats this stand like for viewing?  How far is the bar? Most importantly because I have mobility problems. Has the bar any seating? Your advice would be much appreciated.
   Thanks

Hi Jinxy,
I've been in PR seats a few times over the years. The view is excellent and the incline isn't at all steep. The bar is no more than 20 yds away if your seat is at the front. If you're at the back-3 or 4 yds.
There's some bar seating but you really could do with being an early bird to catch a table (say 10.30-11 ish). If you're wheelchair user there's a great little section too.
It's a great spot on Thursday for sure because it's comfortable and not mad busy.
