Any particular reason why?
I would have thought they'd really want to keep an Irish Derby and Irish Champion Stakes son of Galileo.

Hay buys Blanco share

Cape Blanco
(© Healy Racing Photos) Owner Fitri Hay has purchased a "significant interest" in Dubai World Cup hopeful Cape Blanco.
The Aidan O'Brien-trained colt won the Irish Derby and the Irish Champion Stakes last season and is being prepared at Ballydoyle for the world's richest race.

The four-year-old son of Galileo, who sported Derrick Smith's silks last term, will remain in training with O'Brien and will race in the colours of Hay.

"We are delighted to be involved with such a talented horse and are very much looking forward to the season ahead," said Hay.

Cape Blanco is currently third favourite with most bookmakers for the March 26 showpiece at Meydan.

I think the wording of the release "significant interest" is significant (excuse the pun).
I am only surmising but there is a chance they have only sold an interest in the "racehorse" not the "stallion".

the guy is clearly a gambler. knows if the horse wins the world cup he might make a quick profit on his investment :o

they also don't seem to have quite the number of classic enrties as in normal years. Will be interesting to see how much they spend at the sales. Perhaps the downturn in the Irish economy is having an effect even on them??

Has 50% in Fame And Glory too. That is why Spencer was in ballydoyle recently.
