There seemed to be interest in the "Unraced Two Year Olds with potential" thread I started in July last year.
We identified some nice horses, had a fair few winners and hopefully generated some profit for anybody who followed the thread.

I thought it might be fun, although somewhat ambitious, to start a "Two Year Old" thread before the start of the season and see how we get on.

Anyway, here are four to get things started:

Pretty Primo – Filly – (Kyllachy – Balladonia) – (Hannon – Tinkler)

Balladonia was bordering on Listed class herself up to a mile. Pretty Primo is a speedily bred full sister to Mister Hardy a 100 rated sprinter, and is a half sister to Zaal and Mister Laurel. She is also a half sister to the unbeaten two year old, and 2011 Guineas hope, Wootton Bassett. Looks the type that Richard Hannon would be considering for Royal Ascot.

Min Banat Alreeh – Filly- (Oasis Dream – Tariysha) – (Michael Jarvis – Hamdan Al Maktoum)

Full sister to Arcano, unbeaten juvenile of 2009 including winning the Prix Morny. Dam was unraced, but family record as broodmares is good. Looks likely to contest the top juvenile fillies’ races if she runs to her pedigree, unlikely to be seen particularly early with her trainer.

Unamed – Colt (I believe) - (Red Clubs – Flames)

Interesting half brother to Lahaleeb the 115 rated winner of the EP Taylor Gr1. She raced nine times as a two year old, her first win being in a Nursery off 72, her last win the Rockfel. In addition, half brother to Precocious Star listed class two year old winner. By first season sire Red Clubs, the Group level sprinter who won three times at two, including the Coventry Stakes.

Samaah – Filly - (Cape Cross – Native Force) – (Sir Michael Stoute – Hamdan Al Maktoum)

This filly is a half sister to Kingsgate Native, but not as speedily bred in theory. She has gone to Kingsgate Native’s current trainer. She is also a half sister to Vanishing Grey an average maiden winner. I just have a feeling the filly will prove pretty good, or useless.

Un-named - Colt (Gailleo - Kind)- (Henry Cecil - Khaled Abdullah)

Pretty obvious I suppose but can't wait to see this full brother to Frankel described by his trainer as a " more forward 2 year old, physically" than his illustrious sibling!
Report Cream Of The Crop February 21, 2011 8:15 PM GMT
Dr Yes (4/2 b c Dansili - Light Shift) is another from the Cecil yard to immediately take the eye on pedigree, being the first foal of connections' Oaks winner who was herself a half sister to smart performers Limnos and Shiva. I very much doubt we will be seeing him until the 7f maidens halfway through the summer months. Still, he is one of many, I am sure, to look forward to from Warren Place, along with a whole host of Juddmonte juveniles yet including the previously mentioned Frankel full brother.

Actually, one other 2yp that caught my eye from the Cecil stable was Perchance (20/4 gr f Oasis Dream - La Persiana), a half sister to last season's 7f 2yo winner Qushchi out of a smart 10f mare who was a half sister to the top-class 2yo/miler Grand Lodge among others. It will be nice to see the De Walden silks back aboard a Cecil trained horse, although this filly almost certainly won't be seen out until the latter stages of the summer at the earliest.

Daffyd (b c Green Desert-Ffestiniog) is a half brother to 7 winners including Group winners Border Patrol and Eisteddfod.  In training with Roger Charlton, early days, but pleasing his trainer.

Soviet Dream (b c Oasis Dream-Soviet Song) is the first foal of a multiple Gr1 winning miler, in training with JR Fanshawe, and is pleasing his trainer whilst cantering. Early days.

Ferrycarrig (Manduro x Scribonia)...shocked to see this! was under the impression Scribonia was JSB's and that if he decided against using Galileo again, he would hve used Teo

i said on a different form that if Bolger got a Galileo Colt out of Scribonia we would have a treble crown horse
Report Equimine.co.uk February 22, 2011 7:53 AM GMT
Well that's a good start.

Big Black Cat, are you an Elite member by any chance? I have been told Soviet Dream looks very much a sprinter?

DMCK, sorry if you already know, Scribonia has a three year old unraced filly by Galileo, called  Claiomh Solais. Holds Irish Guineas and Oaks entries.
Report DMCK February 22, 2011 9:18 AM GMT
Equamine, yeah saw she had a few 5day entries but never made it to the track, judging by her family you have to imagine her being a group horse of some guise.
but the covering of scribonia with manduro is baffling. i mean if you waNT TO change it up maybe try Monjeeu or High Chaperal

The Juddmonte man saw Soviet Dream as a yearling and described him as a 'Showcasing type'.

His pedigree suggests that he may get a mile, but who knows?
Report Cream Of The Crop March 25, 2011 11:38 AM GMT
Just the 30 to get the ball rolling. Silly I didn't bother including any of the Juddmonte 2yos, as none have been officially named and not all of them have entered training yet.

Alborz (14/4 b c Dubai Destination - Mount Elbrus)
Trainer: Mark Johnston  Owner: Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum

Half brother to the smart 7f-1m 2yo winner Strobilus (Group 1 placed), useful dual purpose performer Hunterview and fair 6/7f 2yo maiden Baransky, out of a smart middle distance performer who was herself the daughter of a full sister to the very smart racemare/broodmare Rafha, dam of the top-class sprinter Invincible Spirit, smart middle distance/staying performer Sadian and very useful 6-7f winner Kodiac. This colt is bred to be fully effective at two, his pedigree suggesting 7f/1m will prove ideal in terms of stamina requirements; likely that he will debut some time in the summer.

Among Equals (17/2 b c Oasis Dream - First)
Trainer: Aidan O'Brien  Owner: Michael Tabor

Full brother to the smart 7-10f winner Perfect Stride, and half brother to the useful 6f 2yo French winner Law Lord and 10f 3yo winner Next, out of a smart miler in France who was the daughter of Queen Mary winner Pushy, excellent Bloomsbury Stud family. This colt fetched 320,000gns at auction, unsurprsingly considering his excellent bloodlines, and he is bred to be fairly speedy though should have few problems with staying 7f at two; should be one of his powerful stable's earlier 2yos.

Backcourt (11/2 ch f Street Cry - Badminton)
Trainer: Michael Bell Owner: Sheikh Marwan Al Maktoum

Half sister to 7f 3yo AW winner Burghley who is the second foal of a high-class 6-7f winner who placed in the Lowther and Cheveley Park Stakes at two before winning at Listed level at three, and she was a half sister to the very useful 6-7f winner Cala, useful miler Badalona, 7f-1m winner Rafferty and 7f 2yo winner Fox. This filly is from a family that has served her owner/breeder proud over the years, her dam placed at the highest level at two and related to a handful of at least useful performers; likely to be seen out some time during the summer months in a 7f fillies' maiden, quite possibly at one of the major tracks.

Born To Sea (2/3 b c Invincible Spirit - Urban Sea)
Trainer: John Oxx Owner: Christopher Tsui

Not hard to pick out on pedigree, being a half brother to the top-class middle distance performer Galileo and the brilliant Sea The Stars, as well as a host of other smart performers such as All Too Beautiful, Black Sam Bellamy, Meliakh, My Typhoon, Urban Ocean etc. His sire brings speed into the mix in an otherwise middle distance pedigree, and it would be no surprise whatsoever to see him achieve more at two than a good deal of his siblings for all the best of him still won't be seen until his 3yo days; will still want 7f to begin with.

Bristol Fashion (27/3 gr f Dansili - Approach)
Trainer: Sir Mark Prescott Owner: Faisal Salman

Half sister to 7f 2yo winner Midas Touch, later a very smart middle distance performer who made the frame in both the Irish Derby and the St Leger, out of a smart 7-10f winner for these connections who was herself a full sister to their smart middle distance performer Intrigued and a half sister to top-class miler Aussie Rules out of the very smart Last Second. This filly is from a family that has served these connections extremely well over the years; unlikely to be seen before the latter stages of the summer but many of the family have proved successful as 2yos in the autumn of their juvenile campaign, mainly at around 7f/1m.

Burwaaz (20/2 b c Exceed And Excel - Nidhaal)
Trainer: Ed Dunlop Owner: Hamdan Al Maktoum

Half brother to useful 5-6f 2yo AW winner Sadafiya, out of smart 6f 2yo winner (including at Listed level) for these connections who was a half sister to useful dual purpose performer Maslak and herself the daughter of a 6f 2yo winner from the excellent family of top-class middle distance performers Assert, Bikala and Eurobird. This colt is another who hails from a family that has served connections well and he is bred to be sharp, so it wouldn't at all surprise to see him out sooner rather than later, perhaps once the 6f maidens begin in mid-May.

Campanology (19/3 b c Royal Applause - Savannah Belle)
Trainer: Richard Hannon  Owner: Andrew Tinkler

Half brother to connections' very useful 6-7f 2yo winner Dubawi Gold (by Dubawi), multiple 7f-1m winner Salient and 6f AW winner Dixieland Boy, out of a 5f 2yo winner who was a half sister to the smart dual purpose performer Rainwatch and the daughter of a Ribblesdale winner. This colt sold for 90,000gns at auction and is very much bred to make a 2yo over sprint distances; could hardly be in better hands, and it shouldn't be too long before this son of Royal Applause is stepping out onto the track.

Commitment (17/4 b c Motivator - Courting)
Trainer: Luca Cumani Owner: Highclere Racing-Diamond Jubilee

Half brother to last year's smart 7f 2yo Fury as well as useful 7-12f winner Speed Dating, 7f-1m winner Tryst and 7-10f winner Secret Liason, out of a high-class 7-10f winner who was from the family of high-class duo Cassandra Go and Verglas. This colt is unlikely to be seen anytime soon but he does have the pedigree to make an impact at two, most likely at 1m considering his sire's stamina influence.

Debating Society (1/4 b c Invincible Spirit - Drama Class)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute  Owner: Ballymacoll Stud

Half brother to connections' high-class 8-10f winner Eleanora Duse, smart 7-10f winner Scottish Stage, 10f 3yo winner Voice Coach and 10f 3yo debut winner Namibian Orator, out of a 10f 3yo winner who was a half sister to the very smart 9-10f winner Stage Gift and the granddaughter of the top-class Sun Princess. This colt hails from an excellent Ballymacoll Stud bloodline, and it is one that his handler has had plenty of success with over the years, albeit mostly with fillies more so than colts; however, this colt could well make more of an impact at two than most of his siblings managed to, his sire very much an influence for speed and precosity, and 7f is likely to prove an ideal starting point in terms of distance.

Dr Yes (4/2 b c Dansili - Light Shift)
Trainer: Henry Cecil Owner: Niarchos Family

First foal of connections' 2007 Oaks winner Light Shift, herself a half sister to the smart duo Limnos and Shiva; should make up into a mid-late season 2yo at around 7f/1m; handler has had plenty of success with this family, including at two, and no surprise to see this son of Dansili make a significant impact in his juvenile campaign from the summer onwards.

Duke Of Firenze (22/2 ch c Pivotal - Nannina)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute Owner: Cheveley Park Stud

First foal of the smart and tough 6f-1m winner (stayed 10f) Nannina, winner of the Fillies' Mile at two and the Coronation Stakes at three, and she was the daughter of a smart 6-7f winner who was herself a half sister to the dam of the smart juvenile Steinbeck and the granddam of useful dual 7f winner Meezaan. The fact this colt was hand picked by Cheveley Park Stud director Sir Michael Stoute suggests that Nannina's first foal looks the part, and he most certainly 'looks the part' on paper, too; has enough speed in his pedigree to suggest he will be sharp enough to begin over six furlongs.

Ebtisama (19/3 b f Kingmambo - Misterah)
Trainer: Marcus Tregoning  Owner: Hamdan Al Maktoum

Half sister to smart 5/6f 2010 2yo Darajaat and the very useful 6f-1m winner Shabiba, out of a smart 6-7f winner (including the Group 3 Nell Gwyn) who was a half sister to 5-12f winner Mustajed, family of the very smart middle distance performer River Memories. This filly is from a smart family very well known by connections, her handler training both the dam and the best of her offspring, both of whom have proved themselves up to Listed class at least; plenty of speed in her pedigree, so no surprise to see her kick off in a sprint maiden of some description, just as her classy siblings and dam all did (either making winning debuts or placing); could be one to catch first time out, particularly if debuting at Newbury/Newmarket.

Entifaadha (25/3 b c Dansili - Model Queen)
Trainer: William Haggas Owner: Hamdan Al Maktoum

This colt fetched 360,000gns last autumn and with good reason, being a half brother to top-class 6/7f performer Regal Parade, very useful 8-10f winner Hot Prospect and useful dual purpose performer Mount Helicon, out of a 7f 3yo winner who was out of an unraced half sister to the dam of the top-class Zafonic. He is bred to be smart, being a half brother to the very smart Regal Parade and out of a mare from the family of Zafonic; could well have the speed to kick off over 6f though it is more likely that 7f will prove his optimum distance this term.

Estebsaal (19/1 b c Dansili - Bunood)
Trainer: John Dunlop  Owner: Hamdan Al Maktoum

Half brother to fair 6/7f 2yo maiden Bakoura, out of a 1m 2yo debut winner who was later useful over middle distances, and she was a half sister to the useful 2yo 7f winner Maghanim and the daughter of Prix Marcel Boussac/1000 Guineas winner Shadayid, very smart family. This colt is from a family well known to his veteran handler, training most of the notable members, including the top-class filly Shadayid; pedigree strongly suggests 7f/1m will suit in terms of distance, and it would look notable if he debuted in the 7f maiden at the Newmarket July meeting won by the likes of Bahhare and Elusive Pimpernel from this stable in recent seasons.

Great Namoos (12/2 b c Dansili - Flashy Wings)
Trainer: Brian Meehan  Owner: Jaber Abdullah

First foal of a high-class juvenile who won the Queen Mary and the Lowther, also placing at the highest level in the Cheveley Park Stakes at two and the Coronation Stakes as a 3yo, and she was a half sister to the dam of high-class stayer Darley Sun. This colt is very much bred to make a 2yo at around 6/7f, the first foal of a mare who did all of her winning as a juvenile, though she did show smart form at three; in the right hands to have a successful 2yo campaign.

Hajras (11/5 b c Dubai Destination - Nufoos)
Trainer: Mark Johnston Owner: Hamdan Al Maktoum

Half brother to connections' top-class 6f 2yo Awzaan and 7f 2yo winner Tasfeya, out of a smart 5-7f winner who was a half sister to a whole host of useful winners and from the family of one time high-class sprinter Watching. This colt is clearly bred to be smart and is well known to his handler, having trained the dam to Listed success and her first foal to Group 1 glory in the Middle Park Stakes; late foal but still likely to prove capable of winning at around 6/7f at some stage this year.

Handsome Ransom (4/3 b c Red Ransom - Maid For The Hills)
Trainer: John Gosden  Owner: Normandie Stud Ltd

Half brother to useful 6f 2yo winner Run For The Hills, 7-10f winner Maid To Perfection, 8-12f winner Made To Believe, 6f 2yo winner Green Tambourine, 7f 2yo winner Artistic Lad (both on debut) and 10f 4yo winner Made To Ransom, out of a 6f 2yo Listed winner. This colt is bred to be suited by 7f/1m this term though is unlikely to be seen out until the summer months at least; however, given that a number of his siblings have either won or placed on debut, it wouldn't at all surprise to see this son of Red Ransom make a significant impact on his first public outing.

MacDonald Mor (29/3 b c Dansili - Imperial Beauty)
Trainer: Paul Cole  Owner: Mrs Fitri Hay

This colt is out of a mare who progressed well with age, winning the Group 1 Prix de l'Abbaye as a five-year-old on her final outing, but her broodmare career has been less successful, with none of her previous first five foals yet to make it to the racecourse. Hopefully, this 110,000gns purchase will belatedly get her career at stud off the ground, and his pedigree suggests that he should have the speed to start off at 6f.

Mawasem (5/2 b c Street Cry - Saree)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute  Owner: Hamdan Al Maktoum

This colt sold for 375,000gns last autumn and is a half brother 7f 2yo debut winner North East Corner, out of a 7f 2yo winner who was a full sister to Cheveley Park Stakes winner Magical Romance and a close relation of Oaks winner Alexandrova and smart middle distance performer Masterofthehorse. This smartly-bred individual immediately takes the eye on paper, from his price tag to connections, not forgetting his excellent pedigree, and although he is unlikely to be an 'early' 2yo, should be seen when the 7f maidens are in full swing.

Michaelangelo (23/2 b c Galileo - Intrigued)
Trainer: John Gosden  Owner: Bjorn Nielsen

Full brother to the promising 3yo No Heretic out of a 1m 2yo winner who was smart over middle distances later on, and she was a half sister to top-class miler Aussie Rules and the smart 7-10f winner Approach (later dam of the smart middle distance performer Midas Touch) and the daughter of the top-class Last Second, herself a half sister excellent producers Alouette (dam of Alborada, Albanova and the dam of high-class middle distance performer Dragon Dancer), Alleluia (dam of very smart stayer Allegretto) and Jude (dam of top-class pair Quarter Moon and Yesterday). This colt unsurprisingly sold for 550,000gns as a yearling, hailing from an exceptional middle distance family; needless say, he will need time and distance to be seen at his very best, but he could well appear towards the backend of the season in one of the better 1m maidens should everything go smoothly between now and the summer months. Has the pedigree to go a long way.

Nayarra (12/2 b f Cape Cross - Massarra)
Trainer: Mick Channon  Owner: Prince A A Faisal

Half sister to 1m 3yo winner Middle Persia and 10f 3yo winner Tebee, as well as ultimately disappointing 6f-1m maiden Bass Rock, and she is out a high-class sprinter who was herself a half sister to the very smart sprinter Invincible Spirit, very useful 6-7f winner Kodiac, smart middle distance/staying performer Sadian, high-class middle distance performer Acts Of Grace and useful stayer Aquarius. This filly is from a fine family, it being a mix of smart sprinters and middle distance performers, but this daughter of Cape Cross ought to be a fairly speed sort and is certainly in the right hands to make an impact as a two-year-old.

Omar Khayyam (24/5 b c Pivotal - Kithanga)
Trainer: Andrew Balding Owner: John Pearce

Half brother to St Leger winner Milan and a score of middle distance/staying winners, namely Kahara, Kibara, Kitty Wells and Kossack as well as smart middle distance performer (7f 2yo winner) Go For Gold, out of a high-class middle distance performer from the family of top-class middle distance performer Kahyasi. John Pearce splashed out 210,000gns in order to secure this beautifully-bred colt's services (rare occurance, with his last notable big money purchase being 2006 Derby runner up Dragon Dancer), though it is unlikely much will be seen of him in 2011; that said his sire does inject a degree of speed/precosity, so he could well be seen in one of the better backend 1m maidens.

Perchance (20/4 gr f Oasis Dream - La Persiana)
Trainer: Henry Cecil  Owner: Lady Howard de Walden

Half sister to 2010 7f 2yo winner Qushchi, a out of a very smart five-time 10f winner (including twice at Listed level) for these connections who was herself a half sister to their top-class 2yo/miler Grand Lodge and several other winners, most notably high-class triple mile winner Papabile and useful 8-12f winner (including on 2yo debut) Sorcerous. This filly hails from a family chock full of smart winners, and her year old half sister looked a very useful prospect herself when winning a backend fillies' maiden at Newmarket last year; every chance that she could prove quick enough for 6f given her sire's speed influence, but 7f likely to prove her optimum distance this season, and interesting to see if she is introduced at HQ.

Riot Of Colour (21/1 b f Excellent Art - Riotous Applause)
Trainer: Ralph Beckett  Owner: The Eclipse Partnership

First foal of a useful dual 6f winner who was a half sister to Racing Post Trophy winner Crowded House, smart French middle distance performer On Reflection, connections's very useful 6f-1m winner Forest Crown, useful dual purpose performer Heron Bay and to the dam of the top-class US filly Ticker Tape. This filly's pedigree is mainly about speed, her useful dam a daughter of Royal Applause who very much took after her sire despite stamina influences on the distaff side of her pedigree; no surprise to see this filly follow suit, and this early foal should be seen sooner rather than later.

Sajwah (14/2 b f Exceed And Excel - Tahrir)
Trainer: Barry Hills  Owner: Hamdan Al Maktoum

Half sister to connections' useful 7f/1m performer Tamaathul and the third foal of a useful 7f winner who was a full sister to the smart 7f-1m winner Green Channel and high-class French miler Mister Charm and a half sister to smart French miler Mister Sacha. This filly has a good deal of speed in her pedigree, something that will be emphasised yet further by her sire; early foal too, so should be seen in the earlier throes of the season.

Stunning View (17/4 b/br f Dynaformer - No Matter What)
Trainer: John Gosden  Owner: George Strawbridge

Full sister to connections' top-class 7f/1m 2yo Rainbow View, later a high-class performer at up to 10f, including in the US, high-class US middle distance performer Winter View, 10f US Grade 3 winner Just As Well and 7f 2yo winner Utley, out of a high-class French/US performer at around 1m who was a half sister to the very smart dirt performer E Dubai. This beautifully-bred filly is with a yard that has enjoyed a good deal of success with this family in recent seasons and, like her two most recent siblings to race for the yard, she should be seen some time in the mid-summer, most likely in a fillies' maiden at Newmarket, perhaps the same one in which they won with Morning Charm last year (confined to newcomers).

Swiss Spirit (25/2 b c Invincible Spirit - Swiss Lake)
Trainer: David Elsworth Owner: Lordship Stud

Closely related to 2010 5f 2yo winner Swiss Dream (by Oasis Dream) and a half brother to very smart sprinter Swiss Diva, high-class juvenile (placed in the 2007 Coventry Stakes) Swiss Franc and 6-7f winner Swiss Cross, out of a very smart UK/US sprinter who was herself out of a smart sprinter who also produced triple 5-6f winner Dubai Princess. This colt is bred to be fully effective over sprint distances this term, and it is quite possible that he will be seen before Royal Ascot, much likes useful siblings Swiss Dream and Swiss France (both of whom raced for this stable); dam's previous four foals all winners and no surprise to see this colt add to that tally this year.

Tajamal (2/3 b c Dubai Destination - Aryaamm)
Trainer: Saeed Bin Suroor  Owner: Godolphin

Half brother to connections' high-class 2010 7f 2yo Saamidd, winner of the Group 2 Champagne Stakes, out of a 10f 3yo winner who was a half sister to the smart 6f-1m French winner Mathematician and fair 2010 5f 2yo maiden Oracle, from the family of Barathea and Gossamer (dam of the top-class 2yo Ibn Khaldun). This colt clearly catches the eye on pedigree as a half brother to last season's smart 2yo Saamidd, and his pedigree in general is one of quality, his lightly raced dam from the family of top-class milers Barathea and Gossamer; should be well suited by 7f this year, just as his year older half brother was in his juvenile campaign.

Top Cop (25/1 b c Acclamation - Speed Cop)
Trainer: Andrew Balding  Owner: Jeff Smith

Half brother to connections' promising 6f 2yo winner Desert Law, out of a dual Listed winner over sprint distances who was a half sister to the very useful sprinter Siren's Gift and the daughter of a 6-7f winner (including at Listed level) who was demoted in the Nunthorpe Stakes of 1994. This colt's pedigree is one of a sprinter, bred for pure speed and nothing else, though his family do tend to improve with time; likely he will be seen some time in the summer over 6f.

Unnamed (15/4 ch c Dutch Art - Ellebanna)
Trainer: Jeremy Noseda  Owner: Susan Roy, Paul Dixon & Brian Morton

Sold for 50,000gns at auction, and is a half brother to the smart 7f/1m performer Mine, 1m 3yo winner (sole career outing) City Bonus, dual 1m 3yo winner Christmas Coming, multiple 7f winner Gift Of Gold, 7-9f winner (mainly AW) Ours and 7f winner King Of Midas, out of a 5f winner who was a half sister to the smart sprinter Bolshoi. This colt is related to a stack of at least useful winner at around 6f-1m, and he is from the first crop of smart sprinter Dutch Art; should be more than capable of making an impact over sprint distances this season, with his entry in the Weatherbys Super Sprint indicating he isn't short of speed.

Cream,

As always wonderful detail and insight.

I will try in the next week or so try and database the juveniles already listed above to advise when they are entered/running. You have given me quite a few JMC! [;)]

For my part, I am  going to try and find those that could be interesting (and of course hopefully profitable) that might go under the radar.

Anyway, wonderful contributions already, just shows that these Forums can still work for the good reasons they were set up.

Sorry if I've missed it but is their any news on a Dansili colt out of Flashy Wings? I've had a look through this thread and the Juddmonte one but although there are lots of Dansili's mentioned not this one

Updated version, now that most of the important Juddmonte 2yos are named and placed. I thought 40 was a nice number to round it off to. Silly [smiley:crazy]

2. Aldeburgh (13/5 b c Oasis Dream - Orford Ness)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute  Owner: Khalid Abdulla

Full brother to connections' high-class 6-7f winner Main Aim and a half brother to high-class 7f-1m winner Home Affairs, one-time high-class 10-11f winner Weightless, very useful 7-10f winner Verdant and 8-11f winner Castle Rising, out of a high-class French miler. This colt is from a family very well known by his handler having trained some of the mare's smartest offspring, including full brother Main Aim and high-class half brother Home Affairs; late foal and unlikely to be seen anytime soon, but has the pedigree to make some kind of impact as a juvenile and should have the speed to cope with six furlongs, though 7f will prove well with his stamina capabilities.

9. Champagne Katie (26/2 ch f Medicean - Palace Affair)
Trainer: Bryan Smart  Owner: Reg Bond

Half sister to smart dual 6f winner (including at Listed level) Queen's Grace, multiple 7-9f winner April Fool and 5f 2yo winner Dubai Affair, out of a high-class 5-7f winner who was a half sister to the top-class sprinter Sakhee's Secret, smart sprinter Palace Moon, very useful 6f-1m winner Duke Of Modena and multiple 6-7f winner King's Caprice. This filly is from a family built up superbly over the years by the late Bridget Swire, most of the family very smart sprinters; couldn't be in better in hands for her juvenile campaign, and more than likely that she will prove sharp enough to start over six furlongs.

11. Continuum (22/4 b c Dansili - Clepsydra)
Trainer: Henry Cecil  Owner: Khalid Abdulla

Full brother to connections' very smart 7-10f winner (including at Group 1 level as a 2yo) Passage Of Time and high-class middle distance performer Father Time, and half brother to smart 8-10f winner Timepiece, 1m 3yo winner Timetable and 10f 3yo winner Sandglass, out of a middle distance winner who was a half sister to Lingfield Oaks Trial winner Double Crossed, later dam of connections' top-class 10f colt Twice Over. This colt is bred to want at least 1m and is unlikely to be seen much before the latter stages of the summer, but his legendary handler has managed to get a win into most of this colt's siblings as juveniles and this colt ought to follow suit.

12. Counsel (31/3 b c Dansili - Kitty O'Shea)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute  Owner: Highclere Thoroughbred Racing-Booklaw

Closely related to last year's smart 7f 2yo Kissable (by Danehill Dancer) and a half brother to 7f 2yo winner Kingdom Of Munster, out of a twice-raced dual 1m winner who was a full sister to Racing Post Trophy/St Leger winner Brian Boru and to the dam of this yard's Derby/Arc hero Workforce out of a late maturing mare who won the Park Hill Stakes. This colt is beautifully-bred but unlikely to be seen until the second half of the season at the very least, his pedigree that off a late maturing sort who will only start to show his best as a three-year-old; that said close relation Kissable managed to place at the highest level as a juvenile and, although this son of Dansili may not exactly scale those heights, it wouldn't at all surprise to see him at the very least competitive in some of the better backend maidens over 7f/1m.

17. Emperor Vespasian (7/3 b c Royal Applause - Flavian)
Trainer: Henry Candy  Owner: Major Michael Wyatt

Half brother to connections' very useful 6f 3yo winner Flambeau and modest dual 6f 2yo winner Young Flavio, out of a useful 6-7f winner who was the daughter of a Musidora winner. This colt is from a family that has served connections fairly well in recent seasons, the dam a lightly raced but useful sort at around 6/7f and his half sister a similar sort last term; pedigree not short of speed and, although it is a slow maturing family on the whole, has enough in his pedigree to suggest he can nick a 6/7f maiden somewhere this term.

26. Monnoyer (15/4 ch c Dutch Art - Ellebanna)

27. Morphius (18/3 b f Oasis Dream - Midsummer)
Trainer: Henry Cecil  Owner: Khalid Abdulla

Full sister to connections' top class middle distance mare Midday (1m 2yo winner) out of a lightly raced middle distance winner (placed in the Lingfield Oaks Trial) who was a half sister to Fillies' Mile/Oaks winner Reams Of Verse, Eclipse winner Elmaamul, high-class middle distance/staying performer Modesta (later dam of Yorkshire Cup winner Manifest) and the lightly raced but smart 10-14f winner Novellara. This filly is very well-bred, being a full sister to connections' top-class mare Midday and out of a useful middle distance performer from a top-class middle distance family. Her sire does inject some speed into her pedigree but full sister Midday needed 1m and three runs before getting off the mark; this filly not necessarily going to follow suit exactly, but her stamina needs are unlikely to vary too much and likely that she will be seen in one of the better fillies' maiden in the latter summer months/early autumn.

28. Mujannad (3/2 b c Red Ransom - Hureya)
Trainer: Marcus Tregoning  Owner: Hamdan Al Maktoum

Full brother to the smart 7f winner (including at Group 3 level) Muthabara and a half brother to 7f-1m winner Aqmaar and 1m 1f 3yo winner Estiqaar, out of a 1m 3yo winner who was a half sister to the smart 7-10f winner Muqbil and very useful 6-7f winner Mostaqeleh, family of top-class miler Bahri and very smart juvenile Bahhare. This colt is bred to be fully effective at around 7f at two, a couple of his siblings able to make winning debuts for John Dunlop; likely he will be seen making his debut towards the latter end of the summer if his siblings are any guide.

31. Palmette (24/4 b f Oasis Dream - Arabesque)
Trainer: John Gosden  Owner: Khalid Abdulla

Full sister to connections' high-class sprinter Showcasing and smart 6f winner Bouvardia, and closely related to smart dual 6f winner Camacho (by Danehill), out of a smart sprint performer who was a half sister to the smart 7f-1m winner Modern Look and the daughter of a top-class sprinter. This filly's pedigree is all about speed, and she is a full sister to connections' 2009 Gimcrack Stakes winner Showcasing, as well as other 2yo winners, so ought to be up to winning a race or two this term; likely to be seen some time in the summer, almost certainly over 6f.

32. Perchance (20/4 gr f Oasis Dream - La Persiana)
Trainer: Henry Cecil  Owner: Lady Howard de Walden

Half sister to 2010 7f 2yo winner Qushchi, a out of a very smart five-time 10f winner (including twice at Listed level) who was herself a half sister to top-class 2yo/miler Grand Lodge and several other winners, most notably high-class triple mile winner Papabile and useful 8-12f winner (including on 2yo debut) Sorcerous.

37. Symposia (24/3 ch f Galileo - Emplane)
Trainer: Henry Cecil  Owner: Khalid Abdulla

Half sister to connections' high-class 8-10f winner Aviate, smart but ill-fated dual 7f 2yo winner Wingwalker, high-class dual 7f winner Early March and useful dual purpose performers Coach Lane and Painted Sky, out of a lightly raced 1m 3yo winner who was a full sister to the smart 8-10f winner Boatman and out of a mare who won the Cheshire Oaks. This filly is from a family very well known to her veteran handler, having trained the last couple of offspring to great effect, including Musidora winner Aviate; sire injects a bit more stamina into this filly's pedigree (last few foals from this mare have been by Dansili), but still likely to make some kind of impact as a juvenile at around 7f/1m albeit more likely towards the backend rather than during the summer months.

38. Tajamal (2/3 b c Dubai Destination - Aryaamm)
Trainer: Saeed Bin Suroor  Owner: Godolphin

Half brother to connections' high-class 2010 7f 2yo Saamidd, winner of the Group 2 Champagne Stakes, out of a 10f 3yo winner who was a half sister to the smart 6f-1m French winner Mathematician and 7f 2yo winner Oracle, from the family of Barathea and Gossamer (dam of the top-class 2yo Ibn Khaldun).

40. Ultimate Authority (6/3 b c Dansili - Wince)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute  Owner: Khalid Abdulla

Half brother to the very smart middle distance performer Quiff, winner of the Yorkshire Oaks who was also runner up in the St Leger, very useful middle distance/staying performer Total Command and 10f 3yo winner Arabian Gulf, out of a 1000 Guineas winner who was a half sister to the very smart dual purpose performer Ulundi. This colt's pedigree suggests the very best of him won't be seen until next year, and all of his siblings to have raced to date have yet to win as a juveniles; however, the majority of them were by Sadler's Wells and there is a chance that this colt could well prove a shade more precocious than his aforementioned siblings though any debut outing would likely come towards the backend of the season.

Thats an awful lot faith to put into Teofilo hope it works out for him. The amount of unproven sires used is incredible for such an established trainer i mean no disrespect to them but having that many is very dodgy and i was surprised at the time when i heard he was using Manduro but i never thought on 3 mares. I hope it works as i like Teofilo and Dylan Thomas as they should be good but better next year personally not a fan of Manduro his stock seem very backward even for a son of Monsun. I'm sure there'll be quite a few New Approach's next year, it worked with Galileo by using him so much so Teofilo has alot to do
Report jmc27 April 12, 2011 5:35 PM BST
Bolger is a extremely wealthy man thanks to his dealings with Shiek Mo so his take a risk approach probably wont have the dangers these days like his gamble on Last Tycoon. Anyway how many free shares did he get in the Teofilo deal aswell

I'm not looking at it from a financial point of view for him because he's so wealthy but because these sires are unproven it could wreck a season for him although it could go the other way.

That really is a incredible the Bolger 2yr olds.

The vast majority of them by Teofilo who is completely unproven and a quite a few by Manduro aswell which is baffling. A few Galileos and HRE and Dylan Thomas

From what i see that is a very risky 2yr old bunch this year

In other news, Frankel's brother has been named Noble Mission. A tad uninventive, to keep the theme going.

Only one on the clock that has clocked a decent time, very poor bunch so far i've got all the times and unless the next 2 weeks throws up something backing at ascot will be impossible.Even gatepost that won today although above average infact was one of the quickest times this season at folkestone but not group level.I'll tell you when i've got prices but at this moment there is only one that stands out.[;)]

Terrible week another bunch of slowboats, although the newbury maiden yeaterday may just turn out to throw a winner at ascot,as long as the fahey horses get overhyped there should be decent prices on a lot of hese races.Nothing anywhere near strong suit this year so far or even elzaam as this was the week they won.SllllloooooowwwbbbooaattssCool

Decent enough start for Arnold Lane today at Leicester with a winning debut over what I was worried may have been a little short but his class told[:D]. Decent winner for me there!

Show Flower runs at Donny today in the 4.30 and is still available at around 6/1 with 365 (was about 15 mins ago when I topped up on what I already have down on here). Channon was on Talksport just now talking up it's chances and I think it is great value. It certainly looked better than Arnold Lane on the gallops (video) and I think this price will not be avialable come the off. I see it as a 7/2 shot approx.

Nayarra who has ran with real credit for 2 seconds over 5f also runs today at Lingers and should oblige now it gets a more suitable trip.

Falls of Lora who beat the one that I was keen to watch on Saturday looks a bit special IMO. I think she beat decent enough field there very well. It wasn't a particularly good time but she did it really well and could be one to follow.
