I'm on BecauseIcouldn'tSee at 130, Always Waining at 150 (laid both off to guarantee £300), State of Play @ 44 and The Midnight Club at 40/1.  There are a few more I'm interested in but because prices are skinny or connections haven't clarified these are my 4 for now.

Kalinic.....trainer stated GN was the plan if he could get him there. He'll go without a prep run if he does, after injuring himself when finishing second in the Paddy Power over the Christmas period. Think he had minor surgery as a result of that injury.
Report Fantastic Light March 21, 2011 7:58 PM GMT
If the word soft appears in the going description Silver By Nature to hose up!
Report CVByrne March 21, 2011 8:10 PM GMT
Kalinic he defo goes, he went over to Haydock in January to run but the meeting was abandoned, then he had a little setback when he got back so hasn't had a run over hurdles.

But last I heard all systems go, I've him backed too and will top up when I hear he's in fine form.
Report Kalinic March 21, 2011 8:59 PM GMT
Good stuff, i've taken some of that 50's, really like this horse, backed it in the 4miler last year, travels very well, hope the injury fully healed
Report CVByrne March 21, 2011 9:18 PM GMT
Wasn't injured at Christmas by the way, just had a slight setback last month is all.
Report Kalinic March 23, 2011 9:54 PM GMT
Just found out that Davy Russell likely to take thee ride on becauseicouldntsee, happy with this, although nina gets a good tune out of him i have to say
Report DALAKHANI 69 March 24, 2011 9:35 AM GMT
Kalinic - does Russell's likely availability point to One Cool Cookie missing the race ? Hadn't heard anything after the cross-country debacle.
Report Viva Pataca March 24, 2011 10:12 AM GMT
I've backed Becauseicouldntsee also. Would prefer to see Nina on board, don't think she's anyway inferior to many of the top jocks and can only be good for the sport. Would settle for Davy though if it's the owner's/trainer's decision to go for a pro.
Report Rydal March 25, 2011 11:08 AM GMT
Davy russell injured
Report grade 1 March 25, 2011 11:18 AM GMT
Russell said he will be back for the ride. Couldnt do the weight on One Cool Cookie anyway.
Report Viva Pataca March 25, 2011 4:41 PM GMT
The National is two weeks tomorrow, Racing Post article states that Russell faces up to two weeks on the sideline. It'll be a fine line to get back in time!

Im on Majestic Concorde & Becauseicouldntsee at mahoooosive prices..Love the national its a race where you can turn pennies into redies $$$$$$$$$$$
Report rogerthebutler March 25, 2011 5:17 PM GMT
Northern Alliance - won the Kerry National on only attempt over 3m then been tooling around over hurdles / inadequate trips (including a pretty decent run in the MCR Hurdle behind Final Approach this season). Acts on good ground in fact the only offputting thing is the huge price, given the connections!
Report rhinestone March 25, 2011 5:57 PM GMT
Ballabriggs won't stay.
Report Viva Pataca March 25, 2011 6:04 PM GMT
I like Northern Alliance myself and love a Tony Martin plot (although it's been a while since Arc Blue won the Northumberland Plate!). Any news on whether or not the National is the plan, very big at treble figure prices if it is?
Report hawkwing02 March 25, 2011 6:25 PM GMT
ballabriggs has more of a chance than midnight club although a do share your doubts rhinestone
Report Saritamer March 25, 2011 7:10 PM GMT
Goes against the grain backing a 7-y-o novice but Quinze has massive chance.
