These two forums are the quietest I've known them for years. Normally, with the big NH races now starting to flow, there is plenty speculation and debate; a few days away from the Hennessy and it's like a ghost town.  I've even taken to posting on the Horse Racing forum - true desperation!  Have they all gone purple?

Glad to hear it - Betfair deserve what they get after the very unfair banning of AR.

Yes they banned AR and everyone went with him. Don't really want to open another exchange account, though. I find better value with bookies guaranteed prices. Is it true you have to bet regularly on the purple site to post on the forum. I hardly bet on here and if the banks gave better interest I'd pull my money and bugger off.
Only really keep it for trading on National.

the final reason for most who went purple...was the site had just become a freeze zone...esp on a saturday...and many were having trouble posting....which for "saturday tips/banter threads...it was aa nightmare.
have to say after getting used to it..purple is the place to be...even though you have to put up the likes of AR & TT..

but hey cant all be perfectSilly

When I first came on here it was much better than other forums, really basic and no frills. Did what it said on the tin. Now it's just like all the others with all this needless crap.

We need to get BF to put it back as an option on the first forum page. Having to click twice to get to it puts people off. Strange but true ...

Sad times, probably all the horse forums will be merged into one given the lack of interest circa 2012.
You would have to say that, Between them, the BHA, horsemans group, The Off Course Bookmakers and The Racing Post et al , have not served the industry very well

I have just been reading MPR's thread on Denman and the Hennessy, which has helped restore faith there is still plenty of good debate on here and some very well informed contributors. Nevertheless, seems to have been a marked decline in the numbers posting on the ante-post forums. When I look at the screen as I am writing, the format of the new forum is distinctly off-putting. Visually cluttered, over-complicated with options that seem of very limited importance, garish adverts on the right of screen, and numerous other contrivances that obstruct the process of communicating directly on a topic and lessens the will to live, let alone the will to write.

There was a kind of immediacy about communicating on the old forum that in some way seems to have been lost with the switch to this new format. That is surely not the only reason the forum has become quieter (in most sports, as I understand it), but it must be a big factor I would have thought.

An hour ago Mouse Morris performed what appeared to be a dirty U-turn regarding China Rocks participation in the Hennessey. He had traded at 1000 after MM said he wouldn't be running. A year ago the forum would've gone into meltdown, with cries of punters being 'put away' and 'who laid the 1000'. As of now though............. not even a thread. Cry
