This classy and game warrior put up a real eyecatching display in the Betfair Chase today. Travelling and jumping nicely he was never put in the race, stayed on stoically under hands and heels and would surely have won in another 200yards.
If he ran his true race he'd place no doubt. wont get in the race though am afraid, will be to busy playing marbles down the back. Do love TB one of my favs

still think he is capable of challenging Big bucks,if he decides to perform!! yesterday did not surprise that much me to be honest in the way he finished, but his best run in the last couple of years was in the cleeve last season, and that should be the type of races he should be contesting imo

I made the ground at Chelt on Cleeve hurdle day, some of the worst Cheltenham has seen. The worst festival ground over the past few years (using final time analysis) was on 11th March 2008. Yesterday was pretty nasty ground.
Probably easy to spot a trend here!

Travelling nicely and jumping nicely? You didn't see the first circuit then:) Looked like he was close to pulling up half way round.
I think he's a very talented horse, always have done, and was pleased to see him confirm how well he stays, as I've always thought he did that too. I think maybe something is or has been hurting him over the years though. He used to hate soft ground and be much better on good, but his big runs lately have all been in very deep ground. That suggests to me that maybe it hurts when he jumps on better ground, which might explain his erratic jumping at times, and his head carriage. Then again, he may just be a squiggle.
Let's have a bit of a reality check, he was never going to threaten the winner, who was heavily eased and in any case not fully fit. TB isn't going to win a gold cup, but he's still got a good race or two in him.

A freak in all kinds of ways, backed him in the Arkle but hes had plenty back off me since, Brennan was easing up and he was the only thing still going in the ground IMO, flattered, They should run him next in either the Pillar or the cleeve because the worse the ground the more it seems to suit him these days. The Irish Hennessey in Febuary can cut up and the ground will be atrocious, maybe there aswell. I think the Lexus might be a bit too hot for him

You say too hot, but then last years we had What a Friend/ Money Trix 1-2: couldn't get much more low key than that!
Ireland is a very good shout though, let's hope they're listening.

He jumps with a flat back and can't seem to tuck his back legs in as he jumps and that slows him down. No way can he win a Gold Cup. Obviously capable of winning something though. Given 3m plus, bad ground, soft fences (or hurdles)and flat track I would definitely back him.

Spose so Sawyer, they are due a good one though, I'd love to see Denman go to the Lexus this year, Joncol should be a better horse this yaer as well, Pandorama, Cooldine and The Listener could also show up. Maybe even Neptune Collonges
