Last ever run on Friday and a really quite sad day for me.
After all these years I actually nearly shed a tear after each of her last 3 runs. The filly has given me as much pleasure as any horse in the last 40 years - maybe because she has always won when I backed her. I even traded a huge profit on her in the Arc this year.
She is by no means as good as a number of great fillies trained by Henry - Diminuendo, Indian Skimmer and Oh So Sharp to name but three. She has though been pretty consistent and maybe is actually a bit better than her rating because she has got a bit lazy - only doing enough these days to win.
So its the last time coming up. I am hoping and praying she comes up with the goods one more time, even running on a horrid dog track against others high on scandalous drugs and on going probably too quick for her.
Never mind - we'll have her first foal by Sea The Stars running in a couple of years or so - a classic winner for sure.
