is he the worst trainer for changing his mind and misleading the betting public?
ummed and ahhed about native khan all week,then we're told hanagan is to ride snow fairy in ch stakes yesterday only for horse to be withdrawn today.

Absolute disgrace. No mention of it being a "strong renewal" when Hanagan was booked.
I`ve long since given up ap betting because of situations like this and Canford in the QE2. |

If he tried to mislead the public any more, he couldnt have. Pretty dispicable to lure punters with yesterdays meat only to have this today. He knows full well its not a strong renewal; thats why the horse was there in the first place. I guess its more humiliating for Hanagan though

Awful decision and punters who backed her should be refunded. I haven't backed it myself. For that man to pull it out so soon after saying it was a runner is a bad advert for flats. The silver spoon brigade should show a certain level of courtesy to the punters who fund the sport that they make a living from.

He never said she was a definite starter though, according to this article in the racingpost.
Cautioning that Snow Fairy, who is set to race in Japan next month, was not yet a definite Champion starter, Dunlop said: "We are by no means certain runners at this stage. We haven't ruled it in and we haven't ruled it out. "We have a plan of taking her to Japan and I need to speak to the owner and we will see what is going to run. How can he book Hanagan and allow it to be all over the press on Tuesday without commentating Snow Fairy will not run, only for it to be withdrawn today "as it's to hot a race" If the bookies do not refund bets placed in the last week it's a disgrace, akin to stealing. I've had enough of this game . |

Perhaps the bookies wouldn't lay the prices they did midweek if there wasn't a chance of her being pulled out? The lack of connection between the chance of non runner and desperation to get a better price does amaze me sometimes. Sure it's lesson learnt though.

As someone that watches the money fairly closely as a (admittedly limited) betting tool I would say that ED's stable is the worst I have ever seen for unsuccesful punts in maidens and nurseries in fact they back virtuaklly everything and their strike rate is appalling.
I dont think he is misleading anyone - I genuinely believe he hasn't got a frigging clue what he is doing. |
