I had this one down as a big contender for novice chase events this season and he is widely quoted for Arkle and Sun Alliance. However the trainer states in TTF book that he isn't eligible for novice races as he has won a chase in France.
Does anyone have any more info to confirm if this is correct?...I can't find any trace of such a result

Did not even run over fences in France let alone win one according to RP database, so that makes him eligible as a novice chaser in my book.
Thats what I thought TB. However Henderson's quote in the R Post's Guide to the Jumps season says ' He'll be chasing - he's not a novice as he has won over fences in Farance - and the big question is the trip: two miles or further?'
