At last we are getting close to some good horses coming out,this must have been one of the worst flat seasons in memory re excitement nearly all run on good/firm,agreed maybe few 2-y-o to look forward to but all very boring, sprinters all average, milers decent, middle-distance average, stayers below average. Bring on Cheltenham!!!!

I am of an age to have been backing horses when the great era of hurdling (Sea Pigeon, Night Nurse, Beacon Light, Birds Nest and monksfield) were around. I watched Arkle beat Mill House as a kid on the telly, and actually had Red Rum in a win double with an unraced 3yo of Dick Hern's called Banner the day Rummy won his 3rd National!
I do enjoy the jumps but the flat, for all its faults, is better imo, and certainly easier to make money on too.

I like both disciplines but i have to say at least NH has the same horses for years. I'm getting a bit fed up of retirements and injuries on the flat because the horses are of to stud. On the other hand i'm glad a flat horse can't fall aver a fence when he's cantering all over the field. Bring on the jumps.
