At last we are getting close to some good horses coming out, this must have been one of the worst flat seasons in memory re excitement nearly all run on good/firm,agreed maybe few 2-y-o to look forward to but all very boring, sprinters all average, milers decent, middle-distance average, stayers below average.

Great

a load of old dogs wearing blinkers

smashing into obstacles put in their way to disguise that fact that they are naturally very slow

getting killed or injured when falling

taking 10 minutes to complete the course on a boggy Tuesday at Plumpton.

Can hardly wait.

You dont like then, was commenting on re better jumpers to come, not summer jumps or flat racing which is far too dependant on draw and going!!!

I was just joking.

I am of an age to have been backing horses when the great era of hurdling (Sea Pigeon, Night Nurse, Beacon Light, Birds Nest and monksfield) were around. I watched Arkle beat Mill House as a kid on the telly, and actually had Red Rum in a win double with an unraced 3yo of Dick Hern's called Banner the day Rummy won his 3rd National!

I do enjoy the jumps but the flat, for all its faults, is better imo, and certainly easier to make money on too.

I like both disciplines but i have to say at least NH has the same horses for years. I'm getting a bit fed up of retirements and injuries on the flat because the horses are of to stud. On the other hand i'm glad a flat horse can't fall aver a fence when he's cantering all over the field. Bring on the jumps.
