Put in an amazing effort in the Arc today. She was almost brought down as they turned for home and I would bet covered the last 2f much faster than anything else. Hope they keep her in training for a crack at next year's race this filly is very good indeed.

She had no race today Champion Stakes maybe?
Report Graeme83 October 3, 2010 4:27 PM BST
Nah i think that's her for the season. The only race i can think of is the BC turf, but when does the AK ever send his real top horses abroad these days...you're lucky to get them away from Longchamp.
Report A_T October 3, 2010 4:53 PM BST
Yes you're probably right Champion Stakes is rarely won by an Arc horse. Hope she is kept for next season and not packed off for breeding.
Report visionario October 5, 2010 6:38 AM BST
backe her to win as posted many times on here and I saw trainer in sea bird resturant after .Gutted about midas touch interference and would have posible got their with clear run .Good filly , not Zarkava but very useful

Anyone know if this filly has stayed in training?
Report sintonian March 24, 2011 9:23 PM GMT
not but I thought they said they would .. could be wrong.
Report bornisthekingofSB March 24, 2011 10:20 PM GMT
stays in training
Report sintonian March 25, 2011 8:18 PM GMT
where will they start off ? Will it be mid-summer or sooner ?

RP comments in-running Arc:

Held up, headway into midfield and nearly brought down by weakening Midas Touch on final turn, pulled wide 2f out and ran on well to go 3rd final 100yds (op 10-1)

Good news really looking forward to her this season. I can see a light Spring/early Summer campaign (Ganay, Rogers Gold Cup?) then prepared for the Vermeille/Arc. Would like to think she might cme over for Royal Ascot and the King George but that does not seem the Aga Khan's way.

Very little chance in the Arc.
Report A_T April 16, 2011 7:23 PM BST
Entered in the Prix Ganay on 2000 Guineas day. Other entries include Planteur, Cape Blanco, SNA, Jan Vermeer, Kingsfort
Report cryoftruth April 19, 2011 9:08 PM BST
"very little chance in the Arc" - sorry Eric this is drivel. Stpopped in her run more than once last year she was a revelation and maybe an unlucky loser last year and actually has a pretty obvious chance as she will be carefully prepared for the race this season.

I am not saying she will beat Workforce or maybe Frankel but to say "very little chance" is the remark of an ignoramus. Ever likely other forumites get frustrated with you.

Entered in the Prince of Wales stakes.

Report hippie April 19, 2011 11:09 PM BST
I can't see her turning up for the PoW.

The obvious path would be similar to the route they took with Daryakana - Prix Corrida, Grand Prix De Saint-Cloud but instead of the King George (send Behkabad?) put her away for an Autumn campaign taking in the Prix Vermeille and the Arc.

Mordin - still at it.

Weekender "I rate Planteur the joint fastest hoese in training (along with his old rival Bekhabad).

Well yes we know they were supposed to fight out the finish of the Arc last year Nick.

Unfortunately they were thrashed by much slower horses. Plodders lIke Workforce and Sarafina.

Now lets think for a second.

Planteur or Canford Cliffs - the faster is?
Planteur, or Goldlikova - the faster is?

Not Plantuer eh nick.

Instead of a little humble pie being taken after the Arc debacle, you continue to try to get out of the foolish dogmatic hole you dug yourself by continuing to dig hard.

Planteur is a top class horse and a real tryer. but

Planteur the "fastest horse in training"? Do yourself a favour Nick and shut up.
Report A_T April 29, 2011 8:31 AM BST
Mordin certainly like to come at things a little bit differently. But his Planteur and Bekhabad are superstars theory definitely need some revision. Planteur's a good horse but won't beat Sarafina.

Genuine question. Why do people in this forum in particular, always go on about how much they've won, and also argue about prices and bets. Can faceless people really develope an ego ? Can't the people who win just switch off their lifes at the wall and share their so called 'success' with someone in the real world ? I couldn't care whether someone has a string of million pound winners or a string of 10 bob losers.
Report sintonian May 23, 2011 4:01 PM BST
In my experience Graeme people who gloat, afterime and profess to be successful are the ones who are struggling, be it with personal issues or other issues such as debt etc. It is all bravado and a smokescreen. It is Escapism, imo, and exactly why I smoked out Eric Morris because the bloke is a real Walter Mitty.
Report cryoftruth May 23, 2011 6:50 PM BST
an excellent effort today. I did wonder whether the distance would be too short for her, especially with a possible slow pace but she has plenty of foot and has trained on very well.

She was pretty unlucky in the Arc remember (nearly brought down at one point and finished like a rocket.

Given that she is inevitably going be prepared for the Arc again, she is a decent bet at around 16 or so I would think.
Report sintonian May 24, 2011 9:23 AM BST
Yes I agree the price seems fair enough.
Report unclepuncle May 24, 2011 12:40 PM BST
Agree that 16/1 looks a fair price though it's a real shame she won't be coming to England as I could see her winning one of the big 10-12f races (Prince Of Wales, Eclipse, King George, Juddmonte etc).
Report cryoftruth May 24, 2011 7:03 PM BST
Its more of a pity for me - I have her in my 10 to follow list and she doesn't look as if she'll be running much.

I suspect she will have her work cut out to win the Arc this year as it could be quite a bit hotter, with possibly Frankel, but certainly the incredible Await The Dawn and that hyped up Oz horse likely opponents.

I still think that as (possibly) the moral victor of the Arc last year she would be a fait bet at anything over 16's. especially as they have now made it very clear - The Arc is the main aim.

For a man who gives Nick Mordin so much stick about his love of Planteur, you're doing a pretty good impression of it with Await the Dawn. [:p]
Report cryoftruth May 25, 2011 9:17 PM BST
I need to keep boosting Await The Dawn for financial reasons!

I actually think Await The Dawn is under rated and he is certainly a top class hose.

The stuff about mordin and Planteur is just banter, although he continually saying that behkabad and Planteur are the fastest horses in living memory is horse-shyte.

Interestingly I read the Mordin article today. He is a mixture of things, I suppose as we all are.

The first half of his article was just essentially nothing but tripe; albeit amusing sort of tripe.

The second half, about decent maiden winners within certain perimeters was intelligent clear and informative. If only he lost the stupid arrogance from some of his stuff and stuck to the other I might even quite respect him.
Report A_T May 25, 2011 9:39 PM BST
Guess Sarafina will be put away for the Arc after the Grand Prix de St Cloud - shame I would have liked to see her in the Eclipse or King George.
Report cryoftruth May 25, 2011 9:43 PM BST
Yes me too. I really wish I had put a deal more ion her for the Arc before, She will be a real contender. The price she is now though indicates her chance in the Arc has not been lost on others.
Report sintonian May 26, 2011 10:34 AM BST
your very partial to an aftertime, aren't you COT ?
Report cryoftruth May 26, 2011 1:17 PM BST
How is wishing I had put more on for the Arc an "aftertime".

Aftertiming would be to gloat that I had put a grand on at 50/1.

I really do wish my paltry bet for pennies at around 20 on here had been for real money.

Anyway the point is Sarafina is a really nice filly who is likely to go very close on Arc day, barring injury etc of course.
