The change of trainer must have been very recent, as he's in Mullins stable tour. Strange one that.

Hope he returns to his very best, always impressed me this horse. Had a decent punt on him for the Arkle a few years back.

Eoin Griffin will be delighted to get Glencove Marina on the track for the first time in the Grade Two Champion Chase at Gowran Park on Saturday.

The eight-year-old gelding was sent to the County Kilkenny trainer two months ago by owner John Brennan, having been a smart winner over hurdles and fences for Willie Mullins.

"More than likely he will run. I train other horses for John Brennan so I think he felt maybe the facilities we have here would help the horse," said Griffin.

"He's had a lot of leg problems throughout his career and we've got a swimming pool here and hydrotherapy. He's been doing fine, but you have to take it one day at a time with those type of horses.

"He's in good form and raring to go. He's probably as fit as you would want him at this time of the season and he will improve for the run.

"I think the ground will be OK for him there, but we will monitor it and see what it's like. He appreciates safe ground, so that's what we'd be hoping for. It looks a nice place to start him off and we will see how we go."

He went on: "You worry about those horses coming back from injury, whether they retain all their ability, but he's been working well at home and we are very happy with him.

"It looks a nice opportunity and hopefully he can run a nice race, but he won't be fully wound up yet."

has got a clear favourites chance today, in my opinion.
regardless of the trainers worries - the horse is rarin to go and the opposition are not in his calibre.  11/8 shot for me.
my concern would be a fast early pace; but i dont think this is likely or at least enough to trouble him. genuine horse and if he's there at the last... wins, imo.
