Prolific juvenile winner Zebedee has been retired to stud in Ireland after proving a real money-spinner for Richard Hannon.
The Invincible Spirit colt has been beaten just once in seven starts this season and has earned over £160,000, his wins including Goodwood's Molecomb Stakes and the Flying Childers at Doncaster. His only defeat came when fifth in the Norfolk at Royal Ascot.
"Zebedee proved an absolute star for us and it was a pleasure to have him in the yard," said the trainer.
"He gave us some great days, winning the Flying Childers Stakes and the Molecomb, besides mopping up one of the big sales races at Newmarket, and at 70,000 guineas he was one of the biggest bargains.
"You never like losing one of your best horses, but Zebedee was only small and a sprinter through-and-through, so it would have been tough for him next season against the older speed merchants.
"I can quite understand (owner) Julie (Wood) accepting an offer for him to stand at stud in Ireland," he told www.richardhannonracing.tv.

Perhaps you could take the view he is a precocious fast 2,old by an emerging red hot stallion that will hold commercial appeal to breeders next season,Tally-Ho Stud is synonymous with that type of stallion, the old saying strike when the irons hot springs to mind, this potential stallion will have plenty of breeders wishing to use him as an affordable route into Invincible Spirit, retiring at 2 didn't impact on either Dark Angel or Holy Roman Emperor in terms of being both commercial and popular with breeders, good luck to the O'Callaghan's with him I'd say.
