Anybody else think Hanagan is going to blow it to Hughes by only riding at one meeting a day and not going down south when no racing in the north ?
Have got 33/1 and 25/1 about him but feel he will now fail (have covered with Hughes), but want to see a Northern Jockey win it.

lol Win Only. Laugh

Dawn, does it matter if he doesn't travel .. ? You can lay him on here at odds-on .. so if you have big prices surely it is a no-brainer to at least get your stakes back .. if it were me i'd be inclined to take some profit aswell. He could get injured.

there is currently £150 available to lay at 1.47 .. so if you have 33/1 and 25/1 it really is a no-brainer imo.

Have covered the bet but would like a Northern Jockey to win and feel that only one meeting a day and not travelling south is going to give it away to Hughes. Its been a very long season for Hanagan and think he is in a great posistion to win it if he got his agent to get him rides in the South.

Deffo a wafer thinly vieled aftertime.

I am new to the Forum and don't even understand "Deffo a wafer thin vieled aftertime". What sintonian and bernardwhat offered is what a forum is surely for. As to Win only-Sp only I am unsure why you use the forum.

I think he's doing the right thing - not going to get on many horses with a big chance down south other than for the trainers he usually rides for up north (who wouldn't be likely to have many decent chances anyway).

Certainly he wouldn't be likely to pick up a fancied spare ride in front of Fallon or Moore for example - especially as he doesn't know the tracks as well as he does on the northern circuit. Most yards have preferred riders they use and he wouldn't be one of them.

Realistically how many rides (let alone good rides) would he have picked up at Newbury or Brighton today ?.

Better to stay fresh and trust the connections that have helped him get this far,and he'll still pick up the odd short priced southern horse in a maiden up north to help him out.

All the northern trainers want him to win aswell, and will be providing him with the ammo accordingly. Only injury would stop him now.

Here is an example of a thinly vieled aftertime

FRANKEL - What is everyones thoughts on the machine, I am on at 33/1 for the 2000 Guineas, 16/1 for the derby and a cheeky double at a special price of 125/1. Thought it looked a class act after its maiden.

Bit worried that it wont train on

Any views?

Still don't understand the last post. Top div and sintonian comments make sense.

Hughes picked up a 7 day suspension last night. Home and hosed for Hanagan.

Have to say, I have seen Hughes do that kind of thing on numerous occasions this season and he always cries about the punishment afterwards. It is what he deserves imo

But Hughes is still riding at two meetings some days, he has 27 rides booked for Monday to Thursday against Hanagan's 16, still think Hughes can win it, and his price is really good value in my opinion.

I'm lucky to be in a no lose situation, backed Hanagan in the handicap at 13/2 (+75 winners), Hughes was +45.

Would love to see Hanagan do it though Cool

Hughes has 34 booked rides in next 5 days to Hanagans 23,Hanagan looks to be a false favourite even allowing for the ban

From Hugh Taylor's column 9/10/10

Also I'm wondering if I was alone in spotting some early interference in the last race at Wolverhampton last night. As somebody who backed Richard Hughes for the title (though clearly that looks an extremely long shot now given his ban), I initially thought Hughes had again tightened up the grey horse on his inner after a furlong or so, but having watched the replay again, it appeared that Hughes himself was tightened up and forced left by Diggerat - ridden by Paul Hanagan. It wasn't a major incident, but in my opinion (and it's clearly not an unbiased one), Hughes was forced to grab hold of his horse by Hanagan's manoeuvre; it will be interesting when the BHA publish the weekends details of Stewards' Enquiries on their website to see whether the Wolverhampton stewards at least had a look at this incident.

No racing at Newcastle Tuesday so Hanagan has lost 8 rides, only 9 Northern meeting left before the end of the season as opposed to 12 in the south and 8 evening meets that Hughes seems to get better mounts at, its going to be closed than the odds have been showing I think.

Looks like Hanagan has blown it, betting wise doesn't make any difference but wanted Northern Jockey to win it.

why u say that dawn, still 3 in front an only 3 days left. Hughes not guaranteed 3 winners even if hanagan gets none.
