Can't work this out myself but Surour looks to have a top chance tomorrow & why he is 25/1 I don't know.
He has excellent 7f form & any rain will help his chances.
He arrives with just 4 runs this season & his last two give him a great chance. An excellent 5th here back in July & well weighted on that followed up by a strong finishing 3rd to Axiom last time when the gaps didn't quite open at the right time for him but still a close up 3rd.
He's ran well here in The Brittania last year going really well until the final furlong found him out & better still to be 2nd to Secret Society, with Invisible Man back in 4th.
Notably Secret Society was just touched off by Al Muheer over the C/D last year with Redford & Genkhi back in 3rd & 4th.
This represents really strong form for tomorrows race & with just 16 runs to his name Surour has potential for more improvement. Loads of positives for me & drawn close to likely leader St Moritz I feel he has a great winning chance at an e/w price.
Charge !!!!!!

Agree Moloko good write up backed him twice this season, this could be his race?
Report stevo1 September 24, 2010 10:22 AM BST
And more rain coming down!

Rain very welcome. Best of luck to us.

Another 25/1 shot for today in the 4.30 at Haydock is Unbreak My Heart.
Perceived second string for the Fahey stable but feel has a very good chance off 87 with a 5lb claim.
Has gone very well off a break before and although not winning over 10f last year in some top races his stamina should be an asset today on the ground & trip of 8f. He's ran 223 over the trip on g/s or softer off higher marks & won on soft ground. At class 3 over 8f it reads 231.
Comes here fresh & looks worth a try as has shown good form off a break.

164 days is very very fresh!
Good luck with him but that is quite an absence to overcome.

Suroor has been a cliff horse for me this season so I took the 25/1 yesterday as well.

Backed him on your advice. Owe you a pint or two if it comes in.
Report enjbenjy September 24, 2010 1:47 PM BST
Looks to act on all surfaces looking at his form. Does soft ground help in that it hinders others?
Report stevo1 September 24, 2010 3:31 PM BST
Think maybe a few non runners with the rain, not sure he would want it too soft?
Report keynes1 September 24, 2010 5:26 PM BST
congrats with unbreak my heart mr moloko; he ran well to get placed.
(I also saw the decoyofthebay finally went in recently; hope you were on!)

Decided to go with Gallagher as my second e/w pick for the race at a monster 50/1 !! the first 5.
His form has been a bit indifferent the last few runs but he actually ran fairly well last time despite coming down the middle of the track at Goodwood last time.
His two runs prior to that were poor but the one thing he has going for him is he has run at the course really well. Indeed he was just behind Surour in 6th in the mentioned race & was a decent 10th in the Wokingham off marks of 104 & 103. Last year he ran a decent 4th in the Jersey. As a 2yr old cut in the ground produced some excellent results in Group company.I feel course form is really important here since the track was relayed & will take a chance he can come back to his best as he now looks very well handicapped.

Best of luck all

I can't see why Redford isn't a hotter favorite than he currently is, he's clear top on my ratings and the way he travelled and finished last time in the Ayr gold cup together with his previous history (won well over a mile as a 2yo and his first start as a 3yo) virtually guarantees that he'll stay this 7f and may even be better for it.

The only (but very important) things I can see beating him is the draw and very soft ground, so I will be keeping my stakes relatively modest for this outstanding opportunity.

Good luck anyway...

Makes you wonder when the horse plays up at the start and then that happens. Is it known to play up at start?
Report mr moloko September 25, 2010 3:52 PM BST
Well hope he is ok. Think he may have clipped heels with runner ahead of him.
Report cats11 September 25, 2010 3:53 PM BST
Hope Suruor is ok, but I shoudn't have been so reserved about Redford...
Report mr moloko September 25, 2010 3:55 PM BST
Well done cats11.

Redford a transformed horse !
