From what we've heard from their trainers seems likely that Goldikova, Canford Cliffs and RVW will be taken out.
Report A_T September 1, 2010 11:15 AM BST
Sorry missed Paco Boy out - Hannon says he'll miss Haydock and deffo goes for the Moulin.
Report ben10 September 1, 2010 11:17 AM BST
Music Show goes for the Matron Stakes I think.
Report Crewebish September 1, 2010 11:28 AM BST
indication from Delzangles is if Canford Cliffs goes to the QEII at Ascot then Makfi may follow him.
Report ben10 September 1, 2010 11:38 AM BST

Agree with that, Makfi must be definite for QE2, will have to get myself down there [:D]

What price will paco boy be in this line up?
Report brigust1 September 2, 2010 12:50 PM BST
Lope de Vega for me.
Report MickInGoldersGreen September 2, 2010 1:18 PM BST
agree Brig1 - though his last run was a serious disappointment......ever hear what reason was given....?
Report Shark12 September 3, 2010 10:45 PM BST
Lope de Vega or Rio De La Plata for me on Sunday. Paco Boy is a worthy favourite but I just wonder how much that race took out of him last time out.

Lope de Vega has course and distance form and think we can ignore his last race, something was obviously wrong. The master trainer Fabre should have him spot on for this.

I also think that Rio De La Plata has a chance - for me he is a horse who wants to go right handed and if you look at the best of his form he should be right up there in the mix. Granted what he's been contesting isnt anywhere near this quality but he has course & distance form too. The way he travelled into the race at York said to me he had re-discovered some of his form.
Report Shark12 September 5, 2010 4:24 PM BST
Just edged out but looks as though RDLP ran somewhere near his best form.
Report sintonian September 5, 2010 4:29 PM BST
ul Shark. Bin Suroor gradually been building the horses confidence up.

Paco a little unlucky.

Lope de Vega is a bit of rogue imo. Puts it in when he feels like it.

Hughes made an awful mess of this - went for a gap that was never there and ended up watching from behind 3 rather mediocre horses fight out the finish.
Report redal2 September 5, 2010 6:15 PM BST
I'd have to agree A_T, Hughes can be the most maddening jockey sometimes, always looking to win cleverly. Looks great when it happens but today it looked awful.
Fingers crossed for the CC / Makfi rematch
Report very promising September 5, 2010 6:32 PM BST
agree it wasnt hughes's finest hour, but didnt look to me like paco boy was travelling as well as normal
Report the lay preacher September 5, 2010 7:29 PM BST
a messy race and the writing was on the wall for hughes a long way from home. having said that i think he would almost certainly have won with a clear run . when he got blocked the eventual winner was a full 3/4 lengths behind him and only won a very short margin you have got to have thought paco would have beaten a tiring siyouni by at least a length which would have made him the winner.
siyouni looks the one to be on for the prix de la foret over 7 furlongs at the arc meeting as his jockey said before the race that this was a prep for it.
Report Shark12 September 6, 2010 6:26 PM BST
My views & thoughts on the Moulin:
1) Paco Boy needs to be dropped down to lesser company to get a win under his belt. I do not think he would have won with a clear run.
2) Bin Suroor has done a good job on RDLP and it was good placement - im still convinced he put up an improved effort despite the belief that Paco Boy underperformed and/or was unlucky. He deserves to take his chance at Ascot or in the Breeders Cup now.
3) Lope de Vega also needs a confidence booster.
4) Fuisse has improved for each run this season and could have won this on merit.
5) Siyouni clearly does not like travelling and this was a much better effort.
Report sintonian September 6, 2010 7:09 PM BST
Lope De Vega was playing up before his french derby win. I think he has a screw loose tbh.
Report A_T September 6, 2010 9:00 PM BST
Watched this again Paco Boy was cruising going to win comfortably if the gap came - but it didn't. The first 3 here were nothing special and are not among the top milers in Europe. Lope de Vega had a good spring and virtually stole 2 classic but won't be winning any more big races.

If I owned Paco Boy I'd be furious now. Not only has Hughes made a mess of this and the Queen Anne - but the horse has been campaigned to keep away from Canford Cliffs - around whom the entire Hannon season seems to have revolved to the detriment of Paco and Dick Turpin too.
Report Shark12 September 6, 2010 9:09 PM BST
A_T im afraid we'll have to disagree on this one. Its far from certain whether Paco Boy would have won that race - gap or no gap.

...and a rather sweeping statement about Lope de Vega - all too soon to write him off. You dont 'steal' 2 classics.
Report JOSE93 September 6, 2010 9:40 PM BST
Lope De Vega might have stolen the Prix Du Jockey Club, but he never stole the French Guineas. Look where he came from, look how wide he was. Temperament issues clearly exist as that was the reason Fabre gave as not wanting to travel. Perhaps they should have put him away after the Prix Jean Prat?!
Report Bellamy Road September 6, 2010 9:48 PM BST
Lope de vega hasn't 'stolen' any races ffs what a load of nonsense, he's clearly a complete corpse now. Paco probably had enough as well.
Report the lay preacher September 6, 2010 10:01 PM BST
connections anounce lope de vega out for season .
