Thought i would start a little thread to see what you lads thinks at moment PP go 4/5 Memory 5/1 Laughing Lashes 8/1 Wild Wind,Together,Misty For Me 12/1 Seeharn 16/1 Kissable 20/1 bar
Obviously Memory desreves to be fav after her two wins in the Albany and the Cherry Hinton,Supplemented Laughing Lashes seems solid enough but how good is the Debutante 'form' with Together not looking straight forward that day(imo).I quite liked the run of Wild Wind when beating Laughing Lashes in her maiden on C/D,but why has she been off? Anyway i will leave it to you more astute lads to point me in the right direction of the winner
Would be interested in Laughing Lashes if she's a definite runner. Proven over C and D is a big plus. On breeding Memory should get it no problem but she seems to have to do it the hard way-odds-on backers will lose a few fingernails...

Prendergast also has Seeharn engaged in Sunday's race, but revealed she will not be taking her chance.
"Seeharn is a non-runner as she just tweaked a muscle when she ran in the Debutante Stakes the last day and she isn't ready to run again yet," the trainer added.
Kissable e/w 16s is now my play.

Got to be on Jessie's purple patch. Great e/w bet. The AOB group of horses are difficult to assess.
Its wont be fast ground and could get sticky yielding ground. Might be a smart lay after Hannon's superstar got stuffed in the national

Before I saw Power's odds, I felt that Memory should be a 6/4 chance, so she's no value at 4/5. She's travelling abroad for the first time and she is reportedly working very well (which means she's showing plenty of speed), so the 7f trip must be a slight worry. The Hannon juveniles have not quite been firing as they were a few weeks ago. The ground should be OK - she's by Danehill Dancer out of a dam who won on the soft, so even if the going changes she should be OK on it. Laughing Lashes has an obvious chance and the Debutante is usually a very good guide to this race (it has provided 9 of the last 15 winners of the Moyglare), so 5/1 represents solid value. We don't know which one Johnny Murtagh will be riding, which makes it slightly tricky. He may well stick with Together rather than switch to the filly that beat her last time (Misty For Me). Wild Wind is an interesting one, but the others look exposed.

Have to take Memory on. After Hannon's other thing was stuffed at 4/9 you gotta think you can get these English Horses beat.
Delighted to see them over though. Gives the race a great dimension

Just recovering from a minor heart-attack: Bestbttng had LL at 26 on here for Sunday- thankfully when you click through they've transposed the 1000 Guineas market onto the Moyglare...[smiley:crazy]

if the ground is still good to firm at the curragh memory wont win she has won her races so far this season despite the ground not because of it the 7 furlongs wont be a problem but the ground will must be a lay.

I liked the look of Wild Wind lto, but decided to try a few quid eachway on Light Footsteps. She finished behind WW last, but attempted to make all on just her 2nd start. She has not ran since, like WW, and she was also very green on Debut, so looks like there could be more to come. 66/1 with Fallon aboard worth a stab.

It should be noted that the Hannon team (well, Richard Hannon Jr, to be precise) thinks that Memory is the best two-year-old in the yard (better than the colts Strong Suit, King Torus, Libranno et al). If she runs to form (and there's a slight worry on that score - see my earlier comments) and is able to deploy that potent turn of foot she should surely beat the Irish fillies. Laughing Lashes would have been a good bet at 5/1, but at current odds I wouldn't oppose the favourite.

I only watched the race on TV, so don't know what the ground is like at the Curragh. It looked a bit loose on top, which wouldn't have helped any of the fillies trying to make up ground from the rear. Memory has a potent turn of foot on genuinely fast ground, as she showed in her last two races, but the looser ground may not have helped today, as she was never able to get into contention. She's much much better than that.

Memory is better but she was still thrashed. I wait and see what Hughsie says and then make a firm opinion on the horse after that but that was a weakish race depth wise and was out with the rags

"She didn't fire today for whatever reason. A few of ours have been running like that recently. We'll take her home and check her out before making a decision. It wasn't the distance that beat her as she was all out of contention before that became an issue."
Hannon quote. Be interesting to see if she scopes badly.

I have now watched the race several times and it's significant for the future that the first four fillies all had a hard race: the winner Misty For Me was hit about 12 times with the whip, the runner-up was hit at least 8 times (and flashed her tail in response), Kissable and Together were each hit about 10 times. Memory was not hit once by Richard Hughes and that kindness will pay dividends next time, as she simply never had a race today. I'm sure that there will be a valid excuse for Memory, as her earlier form over 6f is rock solid (she has beaten the winners of the Gr.3 Princess Margaret Stakes and the Gr.2 Lowther Stakes). Several of the Hannon two-year-olds have disappointed recently: Strong Suit, Libranno and now Memory. There is clearly something amiss.

anyone else think Laughing Lashes didn't really go through with it(when hit with the whip tail went abit) which is strange as she dug really deep when winning the debutant. Quite liked the run of Kissable who could be interesting over a mile. Anyway well done to the winners

the race was run in a fast time indicating it was quick ground. connections warned everyone last time she really needed cut in the ground but managed to get away with it that time .theres no big mystery she just needs cut in the ground.

i thought she (memory) looked a little pottery going to the start.
interesting point about not being given a hard race and also that hannons horses are out of sorts, but they have all had long seasons no doubt. personally i lost on the race and thought that she was a solid odds on shot. another chance for me... chevely park stakes over 6f at newmarket maybe.

Excuses have to be made for any horse that runs 20lbs below its previous form. I'm sure that Memory will be back: she's bred to get a mile without any problem, she should act on any ground, she has shown an amazing turn of foot in her previous races, and she is rated at least the equal of the stable's top juvenile colts this season. The Cheveley Park looks like being the key 1000 Guineas trial once again.

It's possible that Memory has already peaked, but if she takes after other members of her family she should train on from two to three. Her dam Nausicaa, who won over a mile as a two-year-old, was placed in the Gr.3 Miesque Stakes in America at three, and Nausicaa's half-brother Sahib won at three (over 10f) and was placed in a Listed race at four. Memory's full brother Kafuu, who won first time out at two, was best at four, winning over 7f and finishing placed over 9f. Her half-sister Naughty Frida (by Royal Applause) trained on well and won a mile handicap at three; her other half-sister Hedaaya (by Indian Ridge) broke her duck at three (over 8½f) and ran her best race when narrowly beaten over 10f at Leopardstown. Many of Danehill Dancer's best progeny, such as Mastercraftsman, Choisir, Where Or When and Lillie Langtry, have trained on well. There is no reason to think that Memory won't continue to progress. Richard Hannon sees her very much as a Guineas filly for next year.

there is no way memory has peaked it would not surprise me to see her turning up in the hoover fillies mile she is bread to get at least that far standing on her head.i think it is very clear now that she needs ease in the ground.

How have you arrived at this conclusion when she has won on good to firm at Royal Ascot and HQ ???

Memory only raced for half a furlong at Newmarket, barely came off the bit and didnt know she had had a race. Trainer says she likes fast ground, her best rating was on fast ground and she has a fast ground action. I don't see how you can compare her to Workforce - he was racing against older horses for a start next time out

the excuse(if you can call it that) from the yard was being drawn in stall 1 was a problem, apart from that all is well with her. Every horse can throw in a stinker i can always excuse a horse one,so will be interesting to see her in the Cheveley Park

I think it was just an average run. You have got to take the way she was ridden into account. Yes I agree she had a terrible draw but she needed to be much more on term with other leading contenders. Laughing Lashes drawn next to her was in a decent position by the elbow whereas Memory was still out the back muddling over last place. The first four home were all in contention for the lead by the elbow and were strongly ridden home from the 3 marker. She had no position throughout the race and was given a much easier time than all of the horses that finished in front of her. Personally I think Hughesie should have got her going out of the stalls into about 5th or 6th. Not waited out the back giving her the impossible job of getting past 7 inferior horses and trying to play catch up with talented horses on fast ground. I certainly am not writing her off but if she is ridden like that in group 1's she will never win one.
