Jockey didn't **** it up at all imo, the horse doesn't have the speed for a quick 5f and the draw did not help either.

why do people always turn to the jockey when a Fav gets beat!?!?

It was a strange race and i'd be inclined to ignore it.

That is what i thought of the race like, i didn't watch it, listened to it on five live as was in car at the time and way i heard it was that murtagh went for it too late and the line came to early for him.

Of the others, looking at the finishing positions, their clearly better than that for sure.

It was a system race, (filthy e/way) and i treated it as such, backed the next 4 in the betting after the fav'.

only runner to run true was the favourite, jockey clearly fooked it up for fav' backers.
cant have it both ways if jock fooked up (which he didnt hoss just didnt go the early pace) then it cant be a true running can it/

Didn't go the early or held up off a furious gallop? Was Murtagh scrubbing him along from the start to the finish or was he just out the back?

Yes a furious gallop was set and yes 6f is his optimum trip, but i am sure he should have won it and Murtagh will be wondering what he did wrong.

Of the others i mentioned, i cannot have it that they gave their true running, no way, and i think i will be proved right in time when the winner and 3rd placed horses do nothing in the future.

spoke to a few of the owners of stone of folca

they said he was run off his badly early...the leaders went off way to fast.

will probably go away for the season now as they dont got the money for an abbaye entry :o

Equiano lost lengths after an awful break from the stalls. the draw didn't help.

Nothing wrong with SSB's run when 6f is clearly his best trip. didnt have the early pace required.

ssb was closer to the winner at the furlong pole than he was at the line look at the replay murtagh couldn't live with the finnishing pace of this good thing get in there

ide say star sprangled was just rusty and the seasonw as catching up with him . he was too outpaced for it to be his true running

Equiano has never ran to 'form' on two previous visits to york(so that maybe his excuse)and as for people blaming Murtagh for the ride on SSB is strange to say the least.

ELG, pre race Best was saying SoF was the quickest horse he had ever had, and he needed a furious gallop which he hadnt had in his previous runs.  So how could they have gone off too fast for him?

Dinkum Diamond - Candy feels his charge is learning all the time, with a Listed event at Ayr on September 17 next on the youngster's agenda.

"He's come out of the race very well and we were delighted with him," said Candy.

"He got well and truly stopped after a furlong and you can't afford for that to happen in a race over five furlongs run in less than 58 seconds.

"He was a bit unlucky and he was really the only horse finishing in the end, so I thought it was a hell of an effort.

"He was perfect in the preliminaries this time so he must be growing up a bit. He hacked down to the start on a lose rein with his ears pricked.

His Goodwood form is very solid and he will improve a lot so we've turned him out with a view to coming back in the spring and being prepared for a maiden then go for the Temple at Haydock. He did prove in the Nunthorpe that he's very fast."
