their own horses was allowed on here what effect would owners have on ante post markets compared to now. Suppose the net back in it's different combinations would need to be considered in how it would affect the.dynamics of the markets.

Not sure it would ever be allowed?

Say an owner backs his horse antepost for 1k, but then finds out horse is injured/won't be making the race.

Not sure it would be ok in this situation to lay back 99% of steak, so still a net backer....

That's a very good example of how the ante post market dynamics could change and your own strategy might need to cater for... sure there are lots more to consider.

There are 3 scenarios for a net back which are a simple back then lay or lay then back or a net back comprising combinations of backing and laying over time. Not sure whether all these would be allowed but each has it's own set of market dynamics.
