Apologies if there's a thread on this, can't see one.
Is it a given that the principals from Epsom will dominate here?
the more I look at Eldalil's run at Ascot the more I like it- overpriced at 7/1 with massive potential for improvement at the galloping Curragh, discuss...

Rosanara for me. On form it beats Hibaayeb who easly beat Eldalil at Ascot. And on that form, through Gertrude Bell, has the beating of Snow Fairy.
I'm really not convinced with Snow Fairy. Ran lots of times but in only 1 Group 1. Rosanara has ran 6 times with 4 in Group 1's either winning or being placed and always well fancied. Won't mind the trip or rain.
At this stage I think it is clearly between Rosanara and Hibaayeb with Crystal Gal a possible long shot.

fascinating race this one imo.
Rosanara is one we've all been waiting for to gain some success since her luckless run in the french guineas imo, and hibaayeb was impressive lto.

wiaitng for groudn conditions first

Rosanara the only one of the principals who won't be inconvenienced by rain. We've had a fair bit yesterday and today so far and more is forecast.

I am firmly in the Rosanara camp here any more rain would be a bonus. I thought she ran a cracker in the French Oaks when getting messed about for a run up the straight and looking as if she would appreciate further.

I don't rate the Ascot form of Hibaayeb and don't usually bet Singspiels on soft ground if it were to get bad, so dangers for me would be the first three in the Oaks although that was also a messy race.

Not sure about Rosanara benefiting from soft ground : she didnt run up to her best in the Criterium in Saint Cloud on very soft ground last November and the time of the Diane would suggest that the ground was nearer 'good' than the official 'soft' going description.

I think the weather fears may be overdone. It would take an awful lot of rain to turn the ground any worse than good by Sunday- we've had a lot of weeks of dry weather up till recently. I'd base your bets on good ground.

I've been similarly waiting for Rosanara at a trip and at this stage am prepared to think the Epsom form is weak.
Would take Meeznah over Snow Fairy on this track and wonder whether Akdarena will just always set it up for a closer at this level...

But hang on?  An old quote:  I think she will stay ten furlongs but not a mile and a half - Alan De Royer-Dupre, trainer [re: Rosanara]

All other evidence points to this race being a plan.  Prep for Pouliches, unlucky in Pouliches, there for a run or as insurance in the Diane, bingo: Irish Oaks...

Confusing.

You've lost me Jair. Surely the Diane would have ranked highly on their targets for the season and im wondering if this race is an afterthought.

The form of the Stoute stable brought up as a possible negative in the papers today- July meeting horses ran poorly and John Smiths horse also.

Pissing rain....will be soft ground

Sin. How can this be an afterthought? Trainer had the winner Sarafina and the second Rosanara(favourite and 2nd fav) and after the race declared the winner would go for the Prix Vermeille and the second the Irish Oaks. Next logical step imo.

Definitely coming around to Rosanara on the ground. the 4/1 may not last.

Rosanara didn't get on the plane so she won't be running. That's a pitty. She was the only reason to watch the race.

I have a feeling we will get a shock result today, so taking on the front 5 in the market, and some speculative plays on Miss Jean Brodie and Crystal Gal (should like trip and ground imo).

Anyone like this DESERT SAGE ? Also have a feeling this ground unsettles enough of the top 5/6 to make the contest wide open. Unexposed and with the ground on her side, they come all this way for one runner, 18's is big given her potential.
